The official FAQ says players can play together when they are on the same server. That confirms broad crossplay, but current official guidance does not specify whether PC and console players can queue together in every mode, including Competitive.
What crossplay means in Marvel Rivals
Crossplay lets players on different platforms play together. Marvel Rivals’ official release FAQ lists PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Epic Store, and Loading Bay as supported platforms and says players across platforms can play together on the same server.
The FAQ does not give a current, mode-by-mode breakdown of matchmaking. In particular, it does not establish whether PC and console players can party up or match together in every Competitive context. Check the current in-game mode rules or official support guidance for that specific case rather than relying on closed-beta rules from 2024.
Crossplay and cross-progression are different
Crossplay is about playing with friends on other platforms. Cross-progression is about using a character across linked platform accounts. Marvel Rivals’ November 14, 2025 account FAQ describes account linking and lets players select a character from a linked account as their primary character.

Existing characters are not merged
If you have characters on multiple platform accounts, you choose one as primary. The others are retained, not deleted, but their data is not merged into the primary character. The FAQ says you can restore another character by changing the primary selection after its cooldown or by unlinking the account.
How to link accounts and switch characters
- Open Marvel Rivals’ in-game Settings and go to the account-binding or account-linking area.
- Link the supported platform account you want to use. The account FAQ lists Epic, Steam, Loading Bay, PlayStation, and Xbox.
- Review the confirmation prompts and choose the primary character you want to use.
Unlinking a platform account has a 180-day cooldown before that same platform can be linked again. Selecting a primary character has a 30-minute cooldown. These restrictions make it worth checking your choice carefully, particularly if you are close to a tournament.

What carries across platforms—and what stays separate
Rank and leaderboard records stay platform-specific
The account FAQ says battle data, rank, and leaderboard position are stored separately for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. A PlayStation rank does not become your PC rank. However, the FAQ says season rank rewards are based on the highest valid rank achieved on any device in the previous season.
Some costumes and purchases have platform restrictions
Platform-exclusive costumes can only be used on their designated platforms. The FAQ also warns that if you already bought a bundle on a PlayStation or Xbox account, platform restrictions may prevent you from purchasing it again after linking; buying it on another linked platform may be an option.

Supported platforms and PC requirements
The release FAQ lists PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Epic Store, and Loading Bay. For PC, it gives these general game requirements; they are not special requirements for crossplay.

- 16 GB RAM
- GTX 1060, RX 580, Intel Arc A380, or a better-class graphics card
- DirectX 12
- Broadband internet
- 70 GB of available storage; an SSD is recommended
The FAQ says PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X support a stable 120 FPS high-frame-rate mode. Using it requires a compatible 120 Hz display; it is optional and not needed for cross-platform play.

Why older cross-progression answers may be outdated
The release FAQ dated December 6, 2024, said cross-progression was unavailable then. The later account FAQ, dated November 14, 2025, documents account linking and primary-character selection, so the launch-era answer should not be treated as current. For present account behavior, use the later FAQ.
