Some Marvel Rivals players are asking for Hawkeye nerfs because they feel his damage can eliminate opponents too quickly. But those posts do not show that most players agree—and the latest official balance post found, for Version 20261009, announces several Hawkeye buffs rather than nerfs. The post was published October 6, 2026; as of October 8, its version date is still ahead, so the changes should be treated as announced, not confirmed live.
Why are players asking for a Hawkeye nerf?
Public Reddit posts titled “Nerf Hawkeye” and “Hawkeye nerf, please.” include complaints about his damage and how quickly he can eliminate opponents. Replies disagree about whether he is overpowered and what, if anything, should change. These are examples of individual player opinion, not a poll or a representative measure of the Marvel Rivals player base. Reddit, r/rivals and Reddit, r/marvelrivals.
No current Hawkeye pick rate, win rate, or representative statistic on how many players want nerfs is established by the sources cited here. The complaints show that the request exists; they do not establish how widespread it is or prove that Hawkeye is objectively overpowered.
Hawkeye has already received arrow damage reductions
Marvel Rivals’ Version 20260219 balance post, published February 15, 2026, said the adjustments followed community feedback and hero performance data and would target some high-performing heroes that had drawn stronger feedback. For Hawkeye, the post lowered three damage values:

These are patch values published by Marvel Rivals in 2026, not current performance statistics. The balance team wrote: “After weighing community feedback and hero performance data, we will bring some balance adjustments in Patch 0219.” Marvel Rivals, Version 20260219 Balance Post, February 15, 2026.
What Hawkeye changes are announced for Version 20261009?
The latest official balance post found was published October 6, 2026, for Version 20261009. It lists several Hawkeye adjustments, all as changes planned for that version:

The official post describes the theme as “The world’s greatest marksman is knocking quicker arrows and sharing a bit of moonlight healing.” These are announced adjustments, not confirmation that they were live on October 8. Marvel Rivals, Version 20261009 Balance Post, October 6, 2026.

The February post reduced three arrow damage values. The October post, by contrast, announces faster Piercing Arrows and increases to selected ability parameters, plus a new self-healing effect tied to the Cloak & Dagger Team-Up. The posts therefore document a shift from damage reductions in February to a broader set of announced buffs in October; they do not by themselves establish how Hawkeye performs now or how players as a whole view him.
