Marvel Rivals’ Version 20250110 update was the Season 1 launch update, announced to begin January 10, 2025. Its January 8 patch notes cover far more than balance changes: two heroes, new modes and a map, seasonal content, ranked changes, PC options, and fixes across gameplay and platforms.
When the update went live
NetEase announced Season 1 for January 10, 2025, and published the Version 20250110 patch notes on January 8. The notes are the best guide to what the update included; “first post-launch patch” describes its place early in the game’s post-launch timeline, not a balance-only patch. The publisher listed Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Epic Games Store as platforms, while the patch notes separate changes available across platforms from PC- and console-specific changes. Objective-completion spawn transition
In Convoy and Convergence, an attacking team that completes an objective now transitions to the next spawn room. This is a match-flow change rather than a new mode.
Rank #2
Seasonal events, missions, and ranked play
Season 1 brought a new battle pass, the first half of the Midnight Features event, and a Twitch Drops event. The patch notes also describe adjustments to mission types. Daily missions, new store items, and most event starts moved from 07:00 UTC to 09:00 UTC.
Ranked play added Celestial, a three-division tier between Grandmaster and Eternity. Season 0 ranks were reset by seven divisions.
PC settings and Intel XeSS 2
The PC version gained additional graphics and input controls. Anti-Aliasing, Global Illumination, and Reflection Quality gained Off options; Model Detail gained a Performance option. Players also gained mouse smoothing and mouse acceleration settings.
The notes announce Intel XeSS 2 support, including Xe Frame Generation and Xe Low Latency. They do not report benchmark results or quantify frame-rate or latency changes, so the additions should be understood as supported features and settings—not a measured performance improvement.

What the patch fixed
The official fix list addresses map terrain and collision, sound, rare overtime and draw issues, and hero behavior. Examples include:
- Terrain unstuck recovery.
- Winter Soldier ultimate resets and hit behavior.
- Movement synchronization involving Venom and Spider-Man.
- Luna Snow ultimate healing.
- A Spider-Man attack while airborne that could continue dealing damage after it was interrupted.
Console fixes included Xbox teammates appearing muted incorrectly in cross-platform play, field-of-view-related sight and crosshair behavior, button settings, and focus switching. The patch notes label changes by platform category, so a listed feature should not be assumed to apply identically everywhere.
What the notes do—and don’t—establish
The update bundled substantial new content and seasonal systems with technical and gameplay fixes. NetEase said its Season 1 balance work drew on “invaluable player feedback and ongoing analysis,” but did not publish numerical findings about player impact or gameplay outcomes. The patch notes likewise offer no independent evaluation or performance benchmarks. They also state: “We will continue to vigilantly monitor game bug issues and fix them as fast as we can.”
