How to play Psylocke
Use Psionic Crossbow to keep up pressure and reduce your ability cooldowns when shots connect. Wing Shurikens add another attack and can return to you, while Psi-Blade Dash and Psychic Stealth let you change position. That combination supports a mobile close-to-mid-range style: contribute with the crossbow, use shurikens when there is a useful target, and reposition with your movement tools rather than treating stealth as prolonged protection.
Marvel’s official profile lists Psylocke, whose name is Sai, as a Duelist with 150 health, a 100-point regenerative shield, and 6 m/s movement. These are profile specifications, not a measure of her performance in matches.

How to use Dance of the Butterfly, Psylocke’s ultimate
Dance of the Butterfly attacks enemies within a 10 m spherical radius for four seconds. The profile lists two strikes per second and says targets are selected randomly, with priority given to enemies hit fewer times. This makes nearby groups a sensible opportunity to look for, but the mechanics do not guarantee a particular number of eliminations.
The listed cost and damage have changed over time. Marvel raised the energy cost from 2,800 to 3,400 in December 2025. After an October 2025 increase from 150 to 170 damage per strike, the February 2026 balance note reduced each strike to 160. In March 2026, Marvel also reduced global ultimate-energy generation by roughly 20% across roles; that is a game-wide adjustment, not a Psylocke-specific charge timer.

Psylocke tips and tricks
- Land crossbow hits when it is safe to do so. They deal damage and reduce ability cooldowns. Marvel’s March 2026 note sets that reduction at 0.3 seconds per hit.
- Pay attention to shuriken recall. Shurikens can deal damage and grant bonus health when they return. Psi-Blade Dash recalls them automatically, so account for that interaction when choosing when to dash.
- Use Psychic Stealth as a brief reposition. Its profile duration is two seconds, with a movement boost. It offers a short approach or change of position, not a long window of invisibility.
- Decide what to do with your dash charges. The profile lists two charges and a maximum 12 m distance. Spending both to close in may leave fewer movement options afterward; keeping one available is a reasonable tactical choice when you expect to reposition.
- Look for a close-range opening before using the ultimate. Its area and target-priority rules make opponents who are near one another a useful opportunity, but the outcome depends on the fight.
Team-Ups and patch-sensitive details
Psylocke’s Team-Ups have changed. In December 2025, Marvel retired Emma Frost’s Mental Projection Team-Up and added Light & Dark Darts through Cloak & Dagger. A July 2026 note also adjusted Team-Up-specific shuriken bonus health and illusion values. Because those details are distinct from the base ability profile and can change with patches, check the Team-Up information in the current client.
Marvel’s September 17, 2026 patch page lists a Scarlet Witch balance adjustment and does not state a Psylocke kit change. The official news index also surfaced an October 9 balance post, which falls after this article’s October 8, 2026 as-of date and is not treated here as live information.
