Mister Fantastic’s kit and balance have changed since his debut, so older guides may give you outdated numbers. As of the official May 2026 balance update, Stretch Punch deals 70 damage, Flexible Elongation recharges faster but no longer slows enemies, and Brainiac Bounce costs less energy. The available official notes do not provide a complete current ability list or confirm the live team-up lineup, so check the game client for those details.
What changed in Mister Fantastic’s kit?
Marvel Rivals’ May 12, 2026 balance post raised Stretch Punch damage from 65 to 70, removed Flexible Elongation’s movement-speed reduction, shortened its charge time from 8 seconds to 6 seconds, and reduced Brainiac Bounce’s energy cost from 3400 to 3100. These are dated patch changes, not a full ability reference; consult the live client for current descriptions and values. Official Marvel Rivals news and balance posts
The balance team described the adjustment this way: “Reed’s crowd-control was getting a bit too oppressive, so we’re trading off some of his slow effects for a boost in direct damage and overall utility!”
How to read the Flexible Elongation change
Flexible Elongation now has a shorter stated charge interval, but the May 2026 change also removed its movement slow. That is a trade-off in the documented effects: faster reuse, without the slow previously associated with the ability. The official update does not establish a broader optimal rotation or combo.

What should you know before using an older guide?
Patch notes can make numbers in older ability charts unreliable. The July 2025 balance post reduced Inflated-state bonus health from 400 to 350; that figure records a historical change and is not confirmed here as the October 2026 live value. Avoid treating it as current without checking the in-game ability description or newer official notes. Marvel Rivals official updates
The official October 1, 2026 patch notes listed store, event, esports, and bug-fix items, but no Mister Fantastic gameplay change. That absence does not verify every live ability value; it only means the listed notes do not document a further Mister Fantastic adjustment. October 1, 2026 patch notes

Is Mister Fantastic’s team-up still available?
Not established by the available dated updates. A February 2026 balance post said the Fantastic Four team-up was removed and that Mister Fantastic gained Fantastic Amplifier through Rocket Network with Rocket Raccoon. That is the state described in that February post, not confirmation of the current season’s team-ups. Check the in-game team-up screen for availability. February 2026 balance post
Practical tips without relying on outdated numbers
- Use the live client as your ability reference. Read Mister Fantastic’s current descriptions and cooldowns before planning a rotation; the cited patch notes do not supply a complete ability list.
- Account for the documented trade-off. Flexible Elongation’s charge time was shortened in May 2026, while its movement slow was removed. Do not build a plan around that slow unless the current client confirms it has returned.
- Check balance updates when a guide gives exact figures. Stretch Punch damage and Brainiac Bounce energy cost were both changed in May 2026, while the bonus-health value cited in some older material comes from July 2025.
- Confirm team-ups in the current season. The February 2026 Rocket Network change is a dated reference, not a guarantee of present availability.
These are patch-aware checks rather than claims from hands-on testing. The cited official material does not establish precise combos, matchup advice, or a proven ability sequence.
