The Marvel Rivals Version 20250110 update added Season 1 content, ranked and PC options, tournament sign-up tools, and a broad set of bug fixes. Its official patch notes were published January 8, 2025; “20250110” is the version label, not the publication date. A January 22 follow-up brought further system changes and fixes. These are historical notes, not a description of the live game in 2026.
What changed in the Marvel Rivals Season 1 launch update?
The January 8, 2025 official Version 20250110 patch notes covered new heroes and modes alongside rank, settings, and mission changes.
- New heroes: Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman joined the roster.
- New maps and mode: Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown was added as a Convoy map. Doom Match arrived on Sanctum Sanctorum; the notes describe it as an 8–12-player mode where the top half of players win.
- Event and Battle Pass: The first half of the Midnight Features event began, and the Battle Pass included 10 costume sets.
- Refresh schedule and missions: Daily mission, store, and event refresh shifted from 07:00 to 09:00 UTC, and mission types were revised.
Ranked play gained Celestial, positioned above Grandmaster and below Eternity, with three divisions. The notes said the Season 0 reset would demote players by seven divisions; the example given was Platinum I to Silver II.
On PC, the patch added “Off” options for anti-aliasing, global illumination, and reflection quality; a Performance option for Model Detail; mouse smoothing and acceleration controls; and Intel XeSS 2 support. These are listed features, not independent performance-test findings.

What tournament changes came with the update?
Automatic follow for faction sign-ups
Faction members could opt to follow their captain on the tournament sign-up page. When the captain or coach initiated or canceled sign-up, opted-in members automatically confirmed the corresponding action. The notes say activation applied only to the current season.
Faction reporting
A separate reporting feature let players report perceived misconduct involving a faction in the same tournament within the previous 90 days.

How that differs from the Season 1 Championship rules
The tournament tools were part of Version 20250110. The championship dates and entry requirements came from a separate official Season 1 Championship rules document, not the patch feature list. Those rules described a quarterly competition following the game’s seasons, scheduled for January 17 through April 6, 2025, with sign-up, open qualifiers, closed qualifiers, and a double-elimination stage. They set Gold 3 as the minimum rank for registration and required players to register through the in-game Tournament page. These details apply to the Season 1 competition, not later seasons.
What bugs did the January launch update fix?
The launch notes group fixes across interface issues, maps, and heroes. They do not quantify how often the problems occurred or establish that every player’s reported issue was resolved.

Interface, maps, and general play
- Notification and text issues.
- Terrain problems that could trap characters or move them unusually, along with floating broken objects and collision issues.
- Map audio problems, plus rare overtime and draw issues.
- A get-unstuck feature that returns a player to spawn after they have been stuck in terrain for a specified duration.
Hero abilities and behavior
Named examples include fixes for Wolverine’s team-up and ultimate behavior; Winter Soldier’s ultimate; Iron Man’s ultimate interaction with Hela’s ultimate; traversal synchronization for Venom and Spider-Man; Rocket Raccoon placing a beacon while riding Groot; Luna Snow’s ultimate healing; and Spider-Man’s airborne Amazing Combo interaction. The notes also list other hero ability, animation, synchronization, camera, sound, and damage fixes.
Console-specific notes
Console fixes included the cross-platform Xbox mute display, field-of-view and crosshair behavior, button settings, and focus switching. The notes said monitoring would continue; they do not support a claim that all issues were eliminated.

What did the January 22 follow-up change?
The official Version 20250122 patch notes announced a January 22, 2025 release at 09:00 UTC with no server downtime. Its additions and fixes were separate from the launch update:
- Event: Fortune & Colors ran January 23 to February 14, 2025, with Clash of Dancing Lions mode.
- Systems: Streaming Mode gained custom alternate names; leaderboard rankings gained a season selector; Career gained historical season rank information.
- General fixes: The notes addressed freezing after battles under certain conditions, an inconsistent Doom Match avatar, Winter Soldier and Loki achievement counting, and delayed Friends Leaderboard synchronization.
- Other fixes: They also listed destructible-environment performance and terrain fixes, additional hero fixes, and Xbox controller crosshair and camera problems.
How to read these patch notes now
Both updates are dated records of changes the developer said it made in January 2025. They are useful for understanding Season 1’s launch and its early follow-up, but they do not independently verify performance improvements, measure the prevalence of bugs, or describe the current live build. Championship rules are season-specific and may differ in later competitions.
