When did Season 3 launch?
NetEase scheduled Version 20250711 for July 11, 2025, at 09:00 UTC, with maintenance expected to take two hours. The official patch-notes page is dated July 3, 2025. Read the official Marvel Rivals Version 20250711 patch notes.
The publisher’s July 2, 2025 overview said future seasons would launch every two months. That was a plan announced at the time, not confirmation of the current schedule. Read NetEase’s Season 3 overview.
What new content did Season 3 add?
Phoenix
Phoenix joined the roster as a new Duelist. NetEase’s season overview describes Jean Grey as united with the Phoenix Force.

Klyntar: Celestial Husk
The season added Klyntar: Celestial Husk, a Domination map set amid the remains of a Celestial. The official notes present the map as part of the season’s Klyntar and King in Black story framing.
Battle Pass and event
The Season 3 Battle Pass featured ten new heroic costume sets with Phoenix Force and symbiote themes. The Milano Repair Logs event also launched with a free Symbiote Storm costume as its reward.
How did Season 3 change ranked play?
At the season reset, players were demoted by seven divisions based on their final Season 2.5 rank. The notes give Diamond I to Gold II as an example. Competitive rewards listed for the season included Phoenix – Emerald Flames for reaching Gold, Crests of Honor for Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and Top 500, and Nameplate Frames for Diamond and Platinum.

What changed to missions and progression?
- Daily Missions: Removed; their Chrono Token rewards were redistributed to other missions.
- Weekly Missions: Unfinished weekly missions could roll over and remain completable until mid-season ended.
- Season Missions: New missions lasted for the season and could be completed repeatedly.
- Mission variety: The update added mission types and removed excessive hero-specific missions.
What new features and interface changes were included?
Accessories
Players could earn Accessory Points in matches and redeem them in the Shop for hero-specific accessories.

Events and match information
A new Events tab made event tracking easier. Match Summary was revamped with more detailed statistics and functions.
Gallery and Costume MVPs
The Gallery merged “Serials” and “Special Edition” and added a “Cinematics” tab for map cutscenes. Costume MVPs that had previously been exclusive to particular costumes could be used with any costume.
Student costume trials
The notes introduced school-email verification for college students to get free trial access to ten costumes. NetEase’s overview said verified university students could access ten costumes and MVPs, with costume rotations each season; verification was rolling out in the US, UK, and additional regions were planned. Those are 2025 availability statements, so they do not establish current eligibility or regional access.
Discord and practice matches
The patch notes instructed players to reconnect Discord after updating to receive 100 Units and unlock communication features with Discord and in-game friends. Team captains also gained an option to queue all team members into the same practice Doom Match session.
What else was in the update?
Store items and visual customization
The notes listed a Phoenix – Chaos Phoenix Bundle and a Phoenix default emoji bundle. Costume colors were added for Scarlet Witch, Jeff the Land Shark, Invisible Woman, and Rocket Raccoon. Scarlet Witch and Jeff also received new Ultimate Ability visual effects.

Twitch Drops
The season’s Twitch Drops included Hawkeye – Will of Galacta costume content. The announced period ran from July 11, 2025, at 12:00 UTC, through August 8, 2025, at 09:00 UTC; it is a past promotion, not a current offer.
Championship and factions
The update covered the third Marvel Rivals Championship season, including rewards for tournament placements and participation. Sign-up required at least Platinum III, and faction slots per region increased. A Verified Faction System added a unique name pool, verified name styles, and exclusive icons.
Fixes, audio, and console files
- Terrain and collision issues were fixed, and symbiote lift devices were adjusted.
- High-frequency hit and impact sounds were softened. Players could adjust the new setting under Audio > Combat Mix.
- Emote animation issues were fixed.
- The Thing’s Embattled Leap could target Wolverine while Fastball Special was charging.
- Console client files were reorganized; the notes warned that this update’s patch size could be larger.
Are these still the current Marvel Rivals patch notes?
No. These are historical notes for the July 2025 Season 3 update. They document what that update announced, but do not establish current hero balance, active rewards, live systems, or platform availability in October 2026. For those details, check the game’s newer official updates.
