Psylocke—Breezy Butterfly and Loki—Robe of Relaxation were separate limited-time store bundles. The Summer Special ran from July 17 to August 15, 2025, and the official sources cited here do not establish a rerun or current availability.
When did the Season 3 Summer Special run?
Season 3, The Abyss Awakens, began July 11, 2025. The Summer Special was a separate event that opened July 17, 2025, at 09:00 UTC and ended August 15, 2025, at 09:00 UTC, according to the Marvel Rivals Version 20250717 patch notes. NetEase had announced a two-month season cadence. The different launch dates matter: Season 3 started six days before the Summer Special.
Which summer skins were free or premium?
| Costume | How it was offered | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Thor—Worthy Waves | Free Summer Special reward | Earn event XP and levels to unlock it. The event has ended. |
| Luna Snow—Cool Summer | Summer Special Premium Edition reward | Named among the premium edition’s exclusive costumes. It was not the free headline reward. |
| The Thing—Sunshine Thing | Summer Special Premium Edition reward | Also named among the premium edition’s exclusive costumes. |
| Psylocke—Breezy Butterfly | Separate limited-time store bundle | Listed as a bundle in the patch notes, not as one of the event-pass examples. |
| Loki—Robe of Relaxation | Separate limited-time store bundle | Listed as a bundle in the patch notes, not as one of the event-pass examples. |
The patch notes described the free route as earning XP and leveling up, and named Thor’s costume as a reward. They described the Premium Edition as providing “permanent access” and offering exclusive rewards such as Luna Snow and The Thing costumes. That wording concerns access to the purchased event pass; it does not mean the live event remained open indefinitely. Its published end date was August 15, 2025.
What were the costume color variants?
The patch notes also listed these costume colors:
- Psylocke—Breezy Butterfly: Violet Veil and Moonlit Mirage
- Luna Snow—Cool Summer: Radiant Radiance and Prismatic Pulse
- Thor—Worthy Waves: Azure Skies
- Loki—Robe of Relaxation: Tidal Trickery
The announced availability window for the new store bundles and color variants was July 18, 2025, at 02:00 UTC through August 15, 2025, at 02:00 UTC. The patch notes are a record of that historical window, not confirmation that any item is currently in the store.

Were Twitch Drops part of the Summer Special?
No. Season 3.0 Twitch Drops were a separate rewards track, with a stated window of July 11 through August 8, 2025 UTC. The official Marvel Rivals Twitch Drops notice listed rewards by eligible viewing time:
| Eligible viewing time | Reward |
|---|---|
| 30 minutes | Hawkeye spray |
| 1 hour | Nameplate |
| 2 hours | Emote |
| 4 hours | Costume |
The announced route required linking accounts, watching eligible Marvel Rivals streams, and claiming the rewards in Twitch’s Drops inventory. That window has also ended.

Did Marvel release swimsuit-themed comics too?
Marvel separately announced collectible variant comic covers featuring beachwear-themed Marvel Rivals character art, including Loki and Thor. These are physical comic collectibles, not in-game event rewards. Marvel’s Summer Special feature highlights the costumes and comic-cover announcement, but the information here does not establish specific issue or variant-edition details, current retailer stock, or present-day game-store availability.

The documented event and store windows are in the past. The cited official announcements do not establish whether any of these skins have returned since 2025, so current availability is unknown; check the in-game store or current official announcements rather than treating the old event dates as a present offer.
