Marvel Rivals Season 6: Night at the Museum launched on January 16, 2026, with Deadpool’s unusual triple-role design, expanded Hero Proficiency rewards and several quality-of-life updates. It is not the live season now: by October 2026, the game had advanced to the Season 10 era. NetEase scheduled Season 10.5 to begin October 9, 2026 at 09:00 UTC, so that announcement alone does not confirm the update had gone live.
What changed in Marvel Rivals Season 6?
NetEase’s January 14, 2026 announcement and Version 20260116 patch notes describe the Season 6 launch update. Alongside Deadpool, the update introduced a new serial story and character lore, a Season 6 Battle Pass, cosmetics, an event and Competitive rewards.
- Hero Proficiency: The update raised proficiency caps and added rewards, including Units, Unstable Molecules, Nameplates, Titles, Nameplate Frames, Badges and Dynamic Avatars.
- Photo Mode: Players gained Photo Mode in Times Square.
- Controller configurations: Players could save, share and swap controller settings.
- Quick Match: Resource Rumble and its map were removed from the mode.

What role is Deadpool in Marvel Rivals?
NetEase described Deadpool as a “triple-role hero” with in-game skill upgrades. That makes his role design unusual, but the announcement does not specify the exact abilities or how the role options perform in matches. In Quick and Competitive modes, NetEase says, “only one Deadpool can appear on each side.”

Did Season 6 add a new map at launch?
No. The Museum of Contemplation convoy map was announced for a January 29, 2026 update, rather than the January 16 launch. NetEase also said the January 29 update would add the Clobberin’ Club area to Times Square, where players could duel. These were scheduled additions described in the January 14 announcement.
What is established about Season 6’s meta changes?
The official launch materials point players to a separate Balance Post for the details of hero balance adjustments. The patch notes and Dev Vision Vol. 13 preview Deadpool, adjustments, the new map and accessories, but the available details do not establish which heroes received particular buffs or nerfs. They also do not provide resulting win rates, pick rates, tier rankings or measured competitive outcomes.

That means Deadpool’s debut and the update’s balance changes can be described, but claims about which heroes became strongest or how the competitive environment shifted need specific balance notes and performance data. Season 6 observations should also be treated as historical rather than as a description of the October 2026 competitive game.

NetEase’s October 6 announcement, Version 20261009 Patch Notes – Season 10.5 Arrives, scheduled that update for October 9, 2026 at 09:00 UTC. The wording is a planned start time, not confirmation that Season 10.5 was already live.
