Marvel Unlimited is being retired as Marvel and WEBTOON prepare to launch a new Marvel Comics app on November 16, 2026. The reported shutdown schedule gives current members reading access through December 7, library browsing through December 21, and app availability through December 28. You will need a new account for the replacement; library information and reading history can be imported, but bookmarks and lists will not transfer.
Is Marvel Unlimited shutting down?
Yes. Marvel Unlimited is being retired alongside the announced launch of the Marvel Comics app powered by WEBTOON. The new app is planned for mobile and web, with traditional page-based comics, vertical-scroll formats, discovery tools, and pull-list features. Those are announced plans, not capabilities independently tested in a launched app.

The new service is advertised as having more than 35,000 digital comics. That is Marvel and WEBTOON’s stated library size, not an independent count. See Marvel’s information page for the new app and WEBTOON Entertainment’s October 5 announcement.
When does Marvel Unlimited shut down?
The dates below are reported by a secondary article reproducing Marvel’s FAQ; Marvel’s direct FAQ was not accessible when that report was checked. Because the account-specific terms and billing route may matter, check the notice sent by Marvel or the provider that bills your subscription.

What happens to your subscription and account?
Your existing Marvel Unlimited account does not automatically become an account for the replacement app. Marvel and WEBTOON say users must create a new account. Do not assume your subscription payment method, account details, or billing arrangement will carry over.

For a refund, check the subscriber notice and identify who bills you. If you subscribed through a third-party app store or billing provider, start there if Marvel’s notice directs you to that provider. The reported schedule says refunds for unused active subscription time are expected around November 16; it does not establish how every account or billing channel will be handled.
Can you transfer your library and reading history?
The announced migration supports importing library information and reading history, along with saved issues and digital purchases or redemptions. It is not a promise that every account’s entire collection will transfer without issue. Marvel’s page says bookmarks and lists are excluded, so users who rely on those organizational features should expect to recreate them.

What does the new Marvel Comics app cost?
WEBTOON’s October 5, 2026 announcement lists two paid tiers. Prices are plus tax, and the announcement’s promotional offer and prices may change. New-issue timing is measured from print release.

WEBTOON also announced a limited-time Ultimate Annual Founders Offer: $59.99 plus tax for the first year. Service activation is after launch, followed by automatic renewal at $99.99 plus tax per year until canceled. Review the official terms before purchasing. The new tiers are separate from Marvel Unlimited. The available announcement does not say that an old Marvel Unlimited subscription or payment will be converted into a new plan.

What should Marvel Unlimited members do before access ends?
- Check your account notice. Confirm the dates and refund instructions Marvel gives your account, especially if another company bills your subscription.
- Review your library before December 21. Reading access reportedly ends earlier, on December 7, but library browsing is reported to continue through December 21.
- Note anything you saved in bookmarks or lists. Those features are not included in the announced transfer, so record the information you want to rebuild.
- Create a new account when the replacement is available. The announced launch date is November 16, 2026; the existing Marvel Unlimited account will not automatically transfer.
- Check the import and plan terms before subscribing. Confirm the data you want is available to import and compare the price and new-issue release window for Base and Ultimate.
Marvel and WEBTOON have not published, in the cited announcements, a complete device-and-region availability matrix or accessibility specifications. Check the official app page for updates relevant to your location and device.
