Where to find Mask Keeper
You encounter Mask Keeper in the Visages area during Act 2. It is the immediate second stage of the Visages fight, not a separate encounter you can enter on its own in that sequence. The walkthroughs describing this encounter were last updated September 24, 2026; their boss mechanics are community-guide reports, not official developer-confirmed information.

What to do before the encounter
Clear the three Vale bosses
Before taking on Visages, defeat Jovial Moissonneuse, Seething Boucheclier, and Sorrowful Chapelier. The guides report that each victory removes a buff from Mask Keeper, making these fights useful preparation rather than optional side content to leave until later.
Plan for both stages without a reset
Your health and resources carry from the first Visages stage into Mask Keeper. In the first stage, target the eyes on the floating masks and watch for the ultimate attack before the transition. Avoid spending every healing or damage resource just to finish that phase; you will need to face Mask Keeper immediately afterward.

What is Mask Keeper weak to?
Community guides list Fire and Dark as Mask Keeper’s weaknesses and Ice as a resistance, and report the same elemental matchup for both stages of the Visages encounter. If your party has a choice of attacks, favor Fire or Dark over Ice. These matchup details are guide-reported; no official boss-mechanics reference was found to confirm them.
How to beat Mask Keeper
Learn the longer combinations
Guides describe Mask Keeper as using longer multi-hit strings than the first stage. Prioritize recognizing the sequence and parrying its hits rather than reacting to only the opening strike. Build Break while managing risk
One walkthrough recommends exploiting the listed elemental weakness and building the Break Gauge. Use attacks that fit your party and the reported Fire/Dark matchup, but balance offense against the health and resources you need to finish the entire two-stage fight.
Be ready for the reported Expedition Attack
Neoseeker describes an Expedition Attack as a four-hit sequence involving a spinning blade and two shockwave blasts. Treat this as a reported example, not a complete move list. Focus on tracking each part of the sequence and parrying consistently; the available guide does not establish exact timing windows.

Choose your party around the full encounter
There is no sourced, definitive best-build ranking for Mask Keeper. Make the choice based on what your party can sustain across both phases:
- Elemental fit: Prefer available Fire or Dark skills and avoid leaning on Ice attacks.
- Defensive comfort: Bring characters or abilities that suit your ability to read and parry multi-hit strings.
- Resource endurance: Consider whether your setup can preserve enough health and combat resources through Visages and the immediate Mask Keeper stage.
