A Call of Duty Competitive subreddit thread dated October 7, 2026, reports that caster Clint “Maven” Evans is stepping away from Call of Duty League (CDL) casting and discusses a relationship disclosure involving MerK’s former wife. The departure and disclosure have not been independently confirmed in the sources available, and the thread does not establish when the relationship began or what MerK has said.
What is known about Maven’s reported departure
The October 7 community thread is the available source for the claim that Maven is stepping away from CDL casting. Its comments are reactions, not independent confirmation. No official league statement confirming his departure was identified, and the original post containing the reported disclosure was not independently available in the search results. Read the community discussion.
That distinction matters: the thread reports a developing story, but it does not by itself establish that the CDL has confirmed a personnel change or provide a verified statement from Maven.
What the relationship disclosure does—and does not—establish
The community discussion describes a relationship involving MerK’s former wife. The available information does not establish when the relationship began relative to any separation or divorce, and it does not establish what MerK has said. There is no basis in these sources to label the relationship an affair, infer a timeline, or treat commenters’ speculation as fact.

How to read the story responsibly
For now, the most accurate description is that a community thread reports Maven’s departure and attributes a relationship disclosure involving MerK’s former wife. Professional coverage confirms Maven and MerK were publicly associated as CDL casters earlier in 2026; it does not confirm the reported departure or resolve the personal timeline. Treat any stronger claim as unverified unless supported by an original statement, official league confirmation, or reliable independent reporting.
