When does Mega Man: Dual Override come out?
Capcom announced Mega Man: Dual Override for 2027 in its August 25, 2026 Gamescom announcement. Nintendo later gave the Switch 2 and Switch versions a Spring 2027 window, and PlayStation Blog specified Spring 2027 for PS5 and PS4. Neither update gives a specific calendar date. The Xbox and PC platforms remain announced for 2027 in the Capcom announcement.

Proto Man joins as a playable character
Nintendo and PlayStation confirm that Proto Man will be playable alongside Mega Man. Nintendo describes his fighting style as built around a shield and powerful close-range attacks; PlayStation Blog also emphasizes his shield-based, close-quarters approach. These are announced character features, not a hands-on assessment of the finished game.

Custom Chips and an Override form
Nintendo says players can mix and match Custom Chips to personalize their playstyle and introduces a new Override form. PlayStation Blog also identifies Custom Chips as a new gameplay system. The official Capcom reveal trailer describes the game as “a brand-new entry in the classic action platforming series.”
Are Mega Man amiibo planned?
Yes. Nintendo says Mega Man and Proto Man amiibo are planned to be available on the same day as the game’s launch. The announcement does not establish current store listings, prices, or regional availability for the figures.
