Minecraft Live on September 28, 2024, spotlighted the Pale Garden biome and its Creaking mob, announced the Bundles of Bravery game drop, and covered a film and a real-world Minecraft experience. Later Java and Bedrock updates filled in the shipped details: the Creaking is linked to a Creaking Heart, and Bundles let players combine different item types in one inventory slot.
What was announced at Minecraft Live 2024?
The September 28, 2024 broadcast introduced the Pale Garden and Creaking, announced the Bundles of Bravery game drop, discussed A Minecraft Movie, and presented Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue. The official event recap is the source for what the show announced; subsequent release notes describe how features worked after they shipped.
The recap also framed Hardcore mode as coming to Bedrock, where it had not previously been available in the same way, while Java already had Hardcore. This was not an announcement that Hardcore was new to Java. Java release notes later listed Hardcore Mode for Realms as a separate update item.
What is the Pale Garden biome?
The Pale Garden is a variation of the Dark Forest. Its pale-toned landscape is built around Pale Oak trees, Pale Moss, and Pale Hanging Moss. Ambient sounds generated by blocks add to its unsettling atmosphere.

Bedrock’s 1.21.50 update, titled The Garden Awakens, added the biome, Pale Oak wood set, moss blocks, Creaking, and Creaking Heart. Its release notes say animals do not spawn naturally in the Pale Garden. That is a Bedrock-specific note; consult the release notes for the edition and version you play when checking current behavior.
What is the Creaking in Minecraft?
The Creaking is a hostile mob associated with a Creaking Heart. In the later Java and Bedrock release documentation, a naturally spawned Creaking appears at night in the Pale Garden when a Creaking Heart has generated within a Pale Oak. It freezes in place while a player watches it, and ordinary direct attacks do not harm it.

The official recap described the heart as the key to surviving an encounter. The release notes clarify the mechanic: find and destroy the Creaking Heart linked to the mob, and the Creaking disappears. A carved pumpkin can also let a player look toward the Creaking without causing it to freeze. See the Java 1.21.2 notes and Bedrock 1.21.50 notes for edition-specific detail.
What is included in Bundles of Bravery?
Bundles are inventory items that hold different item types together in a single stack, helping conserve inventory space. Java’s 1.21.2 release notes say a bundle holds one stack, usually 64 items. That describes the bundle’s capacity in the Java release documentation, not a guarantee that every item or edition has identical behavior.

The event recap announced bundles for all editions. Java 1.21.2 was titled Bundles of Bravery and included the feature alongside other changes, including Hardcore Mode to Realms. Bedrock’s 1.21.40 release notes provide its corresponding release context. Bundles were a headline feature, not the entirety of either update.
What else did the event cover?
A Minecraft Movie
The broadcast discussed the then-upcoming A Minecraft Movie as part of its wider Minecraft news. The recap did not make the film part of the game drop.
