The announced platforms are PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
When does MLB The Show 26 come out?
The announced standard launch date was March 17, 2026. Players who bought Digital Deluxe could start playing four days earlier, on March 13. The announcement also said preorders would open February 3. The official PlayStation support page confirms the release schedule and the two announced editions.

Who is on the cover of MLB The Show 26?
Aaron Judge is the cover athlete. The January 27 reveal shows the New York Yankees star in both Yankees pinstripes and his Team USA World Baseball Classic uniform. MLB reported that this is Judge’s second cover appearance, following MLB The Show 18, and that he is the second player to appear on more than one cover after Joe Mauer. MLB also credited Judge with 53 home runs, a .331 batting average and his third MVP season in 2025; those figures are MLB’s reporting.
The cover announcement also included a Homage x MLB The Show Aaron Judge T-shirt, with youth sizes mentioned. The apparel is separate from the game.

What platforms is MLB The Show 26 on?
The announced console platforms are PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. The PlayStation support page lists cross-play across the supported consoles. Nintendo says online features on Switch require a Nintendo Account and a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
What’s new in MLB The Show 26?
San Diego Studio’s February 3 gameplay reveal outlined changes across career, card-collecting, history, franchise management and gameplay. These are developer-announced features.

Road to the Show adds a college-to-Cooperstown journey
Road to the Show expands its amateur years and adds 11 college teams, bringing the total to 19. The reveal also highlighted the officially licensed NCAA Men’s College World Series format and bracket, new career goals, and Road to Cooperstown, a new journey that starts in high school and progresses toward the Hall of Fame.
Diamond Dynasty brings back World Baseball Classic content
World Baseball Classic content returns to Diamond Dynasty, including Tokyo Dome and Estadio Hiram Bithorn. The studio also announced a Mini-Seasons overhaul, along with rewards, programs, collections and ongoing updates.

Franchise gets new trade tools and management options
A new Trade HUB and Trade Logic System headline the Franchise updates. San Diego Studio also announced revised lineup and pitching-rotation logic, bullpen games and more control over how seasons are played.

On-field play adds pitching, hitting and fielding features
The gameplay reveal named Big Zone hitting, Bear Down Pitching, new fielder reaction attributes and catcher Pop Time. Players also get a Plate Coverage Indicator sensitivity slider. The studio announced three stadiums—Tokyo Dome, Estadio Hiram Bithorn and Terrapin Park—and more than 500 new gameplay animations.

The announcement named Standard and Digital Deluxe editions; Digital Deluxe was the edition with the announced early-access window.
