Who is on the cover of MLB The Show 26?
Aaron Judge is the cover athlete. Sony Interactive Entertainment announced his return on January 27, 2026, and MLB.com reported that it is his second appearance on a The Show cover; he previously appeared on MLB The Show 18. The game returned to a single-athlete cover after MLB The Show 25 featured Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz, and Gunnar Henderson.

The artwork places Judge in both New York Yankees pinstripes and a Team USA uniform. MLB.com described it as the first time the series had featured a player in his country’s jersey. Judge was Team USA’s captain for the upcoming World Baseball Classic, according to MLB.com. Sony’s announcement described him as a three-time American League MVP and seven-time All-Star.

What platforms is MLB The Show 26 on?
Sony and MLB announced MLB The Show 26 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Nintendo’s official listing independently confirms the Switch version. The cited announcements do not list a PC version.
What does the cover reveal say about the game?
Sony framed the game’s theme as “The Journey”: a player’s progression from high school through college and the minors to the major leagues. The official announcement also quoted Ramone Russell, PD Communications and Brand Strategist at Sony Interactive Entertainment: “We’re excited to have him back as the cover athlete of MLB The Show 26.”

World Baseball Classic in Diamond Dynasty
The World Baseball Classic tournament returned to Diamond Dynasty. Nintendo’s listing describes playing against national teams in that mode. Those descriptions confirm the tournament’s presence, but do not establish every detail about playable rosters or other modes.
Judge’s series history
MLB.com noted that Joe Mauer is the other player to appear on multiple covers, with consecutive appearances on the 2010 and 2011 games. Judge’s return therefore places him among the series’ repeat cover athletes.
