Some of 2025’s most interesting mobile releases changed not just what players could play, but where and how they could play it. Official announcements from Apple, Google, and Netflix point to four clear directions: subscription catalogs, mobile-to-PC continuity, spatial experiences, and familiar games reshaped with new solo or multiplayer modes. These are selected examples, not a definitive ranking or a complete list of the year’s releases.
What changed about mobile gaming in 2025?
Mobile games increasingly sat within broader platform ecosystems. Some were part of subscription catalogs playable on several devices; others connected mobile play with PC, experimented with spatial interaction, or added new ways to play with or against other people.
The examples below show different approaches rather than competing on a single measure. A game’s actual availability can depend on its platform, region, device compatibility, and current listing.
Apple Arcade brought remasters, ports, and spatial games into one catalog
Apple’s January 2025 announcement highlighted a mix of new releases and familiar franchises. Skate City: New York drew on real-world skate spots; FINAL FANTASY+ was described as a remastered 2D version; and Trials of Mana+ was a mobile port. Gears & Goo, for Apple Vision Pro, combined tower defense and base building with spatial computing. Apple also announced PGA TOUR Pro Golf for February 6, with head-to-head matches and tournaments.

What the subscription includes
Apple said in June 2025 that its Arcade catalog included more than 200 games, with no ads or in-app purchases. That is Apple’s description of its own catalog at the time, not a comparison of subscription prices or a guarantee that every named game remains available in every region. More details are in Apple’s June 2025 announcement.

Google Play Games connected mobile titles with PC play
Google’s March 2025 update described thousands of mobile games playable through Google Play Games and announced PC-oriented additions and features. It named DREDGE and TABS Mobile among the PC games coming to Google Play, with Disco Elysium expected later in the year. Google also described custom controls and multi-account and multi-instance support for Google Play Games on PC. Those titles were examples in an announcement, not a promise of present-day availability.
In September 2025, Google said Google Play Games on PC had graduated from beta to general availability and described continuity between mobile and PC. Google reported more than 200,000 titles across mobile and PC; that figure is Google’s platform-reported catalog count, not an independent market estimate. Netflix Games added another route to mobile play
Netflix announced WWE 2K25 Mobile in November 2025, describing Career Mode, quick matches against the CPU, and online solo or tag-team play. The announcement shows what Netflix announced for that year; it does not establish that the game is still available today. See Netflix’s announcement for its description of the game.
Netflix’s mobile games help page explains that games are installed through the Netflix app and the relevant app store. A game may not appear if a device is incompatible or a profile’s maturity setting is below the game’s rating. Check the title’s current regional listing and support details before trying to install it.
