According to contemporary coverage, texting READY led to a prompt about receiving sensitive intel and, eventually, a map screenshot. The report only said the image seemed to show a new Warzone map; Activision did not officially confirm that identification in the sources available.
What number was hidden in the teaser?
ComicBook.com reported on August 7, 2023, that the teaser contained +1 (202) 918-3022. The report said the number included the US country code and noted that standard text-message rates could apply.
What happened when people texted READY?
The reported first step was to text READY. The next prompt asked whether the recipient was ready to receive sensitive intel. ComicBook.com said the exchange eventually returned a screenshot of a map.
Was the screenshot an official new Warzone map reveal?
Not on the evidence cited here. ComicBook.com described the screenshot as something that “seems to be” the new Warzone map, which is a tentative identification—not an official map confirmation. The distinction matters: the text exchange was described in contemporary reporting, while Activision’s official announcement covered the game and its modes, not confirmation of that screenshot’s identity.

Tech Times published an article on August 8, 2023, with a matching headline about the hidden number and secret map. Its accessible page text supports that framing, but does not provide detailed independent confirmation of the exchange: Tech Times’ article.
Is the number still active?
The sources cited for this story do not establish whether the number or its automated message campaign still works. It was reported as part of a 2023 promotion, not as a verified current service or game-support contact. Do not assume that texting it now will produce the same response.
