Its clearest draw is the official 2025 championship roster, bikes and tracks, supported by a rebuilt physics system, evolving track surfaces, career choices and side modes. That combination gives the game a specific appeal—but the learning curve is central to whether it will be fun for you.
What is Monster Energy Supercross 25?
Developed and published by Milestone, Monster Energy Supercross 25 is a licensed Supercross racing game built around the 2025 championship. The licensor said the game brought the season’s official rosters, tracks and bikes into the franchise for the first time. It launched on April 10, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC; eligible editions offered early access beginning April 7.

That date matters: the game represents the 2025 season, not live 2026 standings. Milestone’s official game page describes the season content and modes, while the Xbox Wire article by Game Director Sebastiano Stefanetto discusses the rebuild and development approach.
How does it ride, and is it difficult?
Milestone presents this entry as a substantial change in how the bikes are controlled. The advertised systems include new riding physics focused on rider weight and body position, revised stick controls for whips and scrubs, track deformation that develops as races progress, and Neural AI opponents that can alter tactics and racing lines. These are the developer’s descriptions of the intended systems, not independent measurements of how consistently they work.

The best hands-on evidence in the available coverage is MeriStation’s PS5 Pro review, published August 25, 2025. Its reviewer describes a demanding simulation-style experience: riders need to judge jumps, manage speed and acceleration across track sections, corner carefully and respond to ruts as they change. The practical takeaway is straightforward: expect a game that rewards practice and deliberate control. If you want forgiving, immediate arcade handling, that same design may feel frustrating.
What modes and progression are included?
Career mode
Career is framed around more than race results. The official descriptions highlight decision points, rivalries, relationships with teams and riders, and bike development. That structure gives players progression and context between events, although the available evidence does not establish how deep or varied each storyline becomes.

Motocross and Rhythm Attack
Outside the official championship, the game adds Motocross competitions on six fictional tracks and one-on-one Rhythm Attack challenges across four sections, according to the licensor’s April 11, 2025 release announcement. The official feature list also includes tutorials and riding aids, which may help players adjust to the controls.

The release announcement lists split-screen and cross-play. The PS5 store page separately states that PS Plus is required for online play. That requirement is specific to the PlayStation listing; check the relevant platform’s current store information for its online-service conditions.

Platforms, editions and accessibility
The standard game is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. PlayStation Store and Steam listings show multiple editions and add-ons, including a Special Edition and a Season Pass; the US PlayStation listing’s Dirt Master Edition includes Monster Jam Showdown. Store bundles and add-on availability can vary by region and change over time, so check your own storefront for the current contents rather than assuming every edition includes the same extras.
The PS5 store listing describes accessibility options including large text, color alternatives, separate audio-volume controls, challenge customization, practice mode, reduced game speed and the ability to pause offline play. Those features are confirmed on the PS5 listing and should not be assumed to be identical on Xbox or PC without checking those editions.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is Monster Energy Supercross 25 worth playing?
It is a stronger fit for Supercross fans and racing-game players willing to spend time learning technical controls than for anyone primarily seeking a pick-up-and-play racer. The official 2025 field, evolving track surfaces and expanded career and side activities give it a clear identity. The main trade-off is that mastering jumps, corners and body control is part of the experience rather than a brief hurdle.

On October 8, 2026, the US PlayStation Store showed 2.66 out of five stars from 1,396 ratings. The storefront identifies these as moderated ratings from verified owners; this is a dated, user-generated snapshot, not a critic average, and the score and count may change. The available independent hands-on review supports the discussion of difficulty, but does not establish a broad critical consensus or a platform-by-platform technical comparison.
