Rey Dau: bring Ice and account for lightning
Rey Dau is a highly territorial Flying Wyvern of the Windward Plains that stores, amplifies, and releases storm lightning, according to its Kiranico monster entry. Kiranico advises thunder-resistant armor and Ice-based weapons. The Icy Veins guide identifies Ice as Rey Dau’s greatest elemental weakness and Water as a secondary weakness; Thunder weapons and paralysis are ineffective.

The available databases list base health before quest scaling. Kiranico lists Rey Dau at 5,000 base health, while MHWILDSBUILD.COM lists Arkveld at 5,200 base HP in its Ver. 1.042 data. These are database figures, not guaranteed totals for a particular quest; quest scaling may change encounter health.

In a February 9, 2026 announcement, Capcom USA said Arch-tempered Arkveld would become a permanent Event Quest starting February 18, 2026, and that Rey Dau would be among the 10-star Arch-tempered locale apex monsters.
