You can’t join the Gears of War: Reloaded Multiplayer Beta now. Its two test weekends took place June 13–15 and June 20–22, 2025, and both have ended. The old preorder, Game Pass, and Gears of War: Ultimate Edition eligibility rules applied only during those tests; buying the released game or subscribing now won’t grant beta access.
When did the beta run?
The Coalition’s Mike Crump announced in Xbox Wire on June 8, 2025 that the cross-platform, cross-play beta would run across two weekends. The first ran from June 13, 2025, at 19:00 UTC to June 15 at 19:00 UTC. The second ran from June 20 at 19:00 UTC to June 22 at 19:00 UTC. Both dates have passed.
During the first weekend, players could try Team Deathmatch on Gridlock, Raven Down, and Gold Rush. The second added King of the Hill on Canals, as well as Courtyard and War Machine for Team Deathmatch. Xbox Wire’s beta announcement lists the schedule and modes.
Who was eligible at the time?
These were historical access routes, not ways to enter the beta today. Xbox’s announcement listed the following eligibility options:

- Game Pass: Have an active Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass membership during the beta.
- Existing digital ownership: Own a digital copy of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, purchased before May 5, 2025, at 16:00 UTC.
On PlayStation, the beta offer was tied to a digital-edition preorder. The PlayStation product page listed August 26, 2025, at 15:00 UTC as the preorder deadline and noted that online console multiplayer requires PlayStation Plus. Those terms have expired with the beta. Can you play Gears of War: Reloaded now?
The full game launched August 26, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, PlayStation 5, and Steam. Xbox announced availability at launch through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, and described the released game as supporting cross-play and cross-progression.
