Pick Deluxe for a modest physical-collectible set
Deluxe adds display and paper collectibles—a Steelbook, cards, magnet, and arcade-art reproductions—without the larger collector box. Its listed price is $20 above Standard.
Pick Kollector’s for the Goro statue and boxed collectibles
The Kollector’s Edition is the option for the Goro controller holder and accompanying book, pins, and coin. Its Atari page’s December 2026 shipping estimate is substantially later than the physical launch; confirm that estimate before ordering.

Release date and what “pre-order” means now
The digital release date was October 30, 2025. Digital Eclipse said physical editions first shipped December 12, 2025. Those are historical dates, not upcoming launch dates. The 2025 FAQ also said the original Kollector’s Edition preorder period ended August 31, 2025, while Atari’s current U.S. page lists a Kollector’s Edition order with a December 2026 shipping estimate.
Some original preorder details are no longer useful as stock information. Digital Eclipse said Limited Run Games’ Xbox physical preorder ended August 31, 2025, with no launch restock planned; that statement does not establish current resale or retailer inventory. The FAQ also said keys for physical PC purchasers would be emailed December 12, 2025, a date that has passed. Check the retailer’s live listing for the specific platform and format you want.

- Uncover the complete Mortal Kombat origin story with the Legacy Kollection! This compilation delivers the arcade hits that started a revolution, the beloved SNES/Genesis versions that conquered living rooms, and a treasure trove of rare portable and console ports you may have missed.
Choose a platform before looking for a physical copy
Digital Eclipse lists Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. It says the game library, interactive documentary, character histories, and music player are the same across platforms. That is content parity; it does not mean every platform has the same physical edition or present-day stock.
For a digital purchase, confirm that your platform and regional store list the game. Digital Eclipse notes that it does not appear in the Asian eShop because it does not meet that store’s age-rating requirements. Platform availability in one region should not be assumed for another.

What is included in the collection?
The collection brings together early Mortal Kombat arcade, home-console, and handheld releases with an interactive documentary. Digital Eclipse describes developer interviews, archival footage, vintage marketing material, a story timeline, character histories, and a music player. Its FAQ specifically highlights the rare WaveNet version of Ultimate MK3, the PlayStation versions of Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero and Mortal Kombat: Special Forces, and an accurately emulated arcade version of Mortal Kombat 4.

That context may make the memorabilia appealing to collectors, but the edition choice does not change the stated digital collection content.
