In Motel Manager Simulator, the best early move is to make the motel, shop, and gas station work reliably before adding more capacity. Keep rooms clean and furnished, shelves stocked, and customers served on time; then hire for tasks you cannot keep up with and expand when demand and cash support it. The game does not publish a universal upgrade order or staffing formula, so treat these priorities as a way to manage risk—not a guaranteed fastest route.
How the business loop works
The PC game by Denzone Games combines three operations: renting motel rooms, running a shop, and supplying fuel. The Steam listing describes renovating, cleaning, designing and furnishing rooms, stocking shelves, serving customers, and managing employees as parts of the loop. Popularity is tied to attracting more customers, while a higher rating is associated with customers willing to pay more. Source
That means a neglected service can undermine the rest of the operation: additional capacity is less useful if you cannot keep it clean, stocked, or staffed. Build a dependable routine with what you already have before taking on more work.
What to prioritize first
Keep rooms ready to rent
Clean and furnish rooms so they are prepared for guests. The game explicitly includes room renovation, cleaning, design, furnishing, and renting; a room that is not ready cannot contribute to the motel side of your operation.

Keep shop shelves stocked
Check the shop regularly and refill shelves rather than letting stock run out. Shelf-filling is one of the tasks the game identifies, alongside serving customers and operating the other businesses.
Stay on top of customer-facing work
Cash register service, fuel pumps, and motel check-in and check-out all compete for attention. Prioritize the jobs that are currently holding up service, rather than trying to do every task at once. A smooth existing operation is a more sensible foundation for growth than adding more stations immediately.

When to hire staff
Employees can help with cash register work, fuel pumps, cleaning, motel check-in and check-out, and filling shelves. Hire in response to a real bottleneck: for example, when unattended cleaning or a busy service point is keeping you from handling other work. Hiring has a payroll cost, and the game listing does not provide wages, task rates, or a break-even staffing formula.
Assign staff to the tasks that are actually needed, then check that their work is being paid for. A Steam Community player, writing about their own later-stage setup, recommended enabling daily automatic staff payment because workers stop working if payment is missed. That player also suggested moving workers to rest when no relevant work was pending. These are one player’s operational tips, not a developer rule or a beginner headcount target. Community discussion

How to decide whether to expand
The game lists extra fuel pumps, vending machines, payphones, a bus station, and advertising among possible expansion options. Some options are gated by popularity, and the Steam description specifically frames additional fuel pumps as worthwhile when there are customers to serve. It does not establish a best purchase order, exact unlock thresholds, costs, or margins. Steam listing
- Demand: Are existing customers waiting, or is current capacity already enough?
- Cash: Can you afford the purchase without leaving too little for operating expenses?
- Staff capacity: Can you cover the new workload as well as existing duties?
- Service fit: Does the addition provide something customers can use now?
Use these questions to compare choices instead of assuming one upgrade is always best. The same caution applies to prices: you can set shop prices and room rent, but the available sources do not establish an optimal price or a tested pricing strategy.

Use player guides carefully
The Steam Community has a guide hub for the game, including player-made material on subjects such as Steam Deck controls and graphics settings. Those guides may help with device-specific questions, but their presence does not establish that a particular setting guarantees performance.
