The reporting identifies the board as an AM5 product, but the available evidence does not establish that either device reached retail or confirm final specifications or present-day availability.
What MSI was reported to be developing
The reports described two forthcoming products: an AM5 motherboard named MSI PRO B650 12VO WiFi and a companion MSI 12VO power supply. The PSU was identified only generically; a final model name, connector layout and detailed specifications were not established. This is a historical announcement, not confirmation of a completed launch. The reports do not show that the AM5 board or PSU can be purchased today, and they do not verify a live retailer listing.
What ATX12VO means
ATX12VO is a 12V-only PC power arrangement: the power supply provides 12-volt power, with conversion to other voltages handled on the motherboard. MSI describes its separate Intel board as using an “Intel ATX12VO power solution” on the official PRO H610M 12VO specifications page. That confirms the terminology for that Intel product; it does not verify the electrical design, connector details or compatibility requirements of the reported AMD board.

Keep the AM5 announcement separate from MSI’s documented boards
The PRO B650 12VO WiFi should not be confused with either of these documented MSI products:
- PRO H610M 12VO: An Intel LGA 1700 board. MSI’s official specifications identify support for Intel ATX12VO. It is not an AM5 alternative.
- PRO B650-P WIFI: A conventional B650 reference model. MSI’s official specifications page lists support for AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 desktop processors. That page does not establish ATX12VO support.
The exact model name matters: B650 identifies the AMD chipset family, but it does not by itself show that a board uses ATX12VO.

What to check before considering an ATX12VO build
A standard-looking B650 label is not enough to establish power-supply compatibility. Before buying components for an ATX12VO system, verify all of the following against the exact product documentation:
- The motherboard’s manufacturer explicitly identifies its power design as ATX12VO.
- The PSU’s manufacturer explicitly states ATX12VO compatibility and publishes its connector configuration.
- The motherboard manual confirms that the PSU’s connectors and power requirements match the board.
- The retailer listing matches the exact motherboard and PSU model numbers, rather than a similarly named conventional B650 product.
For the reported MSI AM5 board and PSU, final model documentation and connector details were not established in the December 2023 coverage. Do not infer compatibility from the MSI name or the B650 chipset alone.

Can you buy the MSI PRO B650 12VO WiFi or its PSU?
The announcement coverage called the products forthcoming, but does not establish that they ultimately launched or are currently available. It also does not verify an official MSI product page or a live Amazon listing for the AM5 motherboard. Treat availability as unconfirmed unless MSI or a retailer provides a current listing for the exact model with matching specifications.
