“Asset Error Detected” has been reported both when MTG Arena starts and during a game, and those reports do not establish a single cause or universal fix. First note when it happens and what platform you are using; if it continues, send Wizards a detailed support request. A Turkish Windows display-language issue was documented in an older patch note, but that historical fix should not be treated as the answer to every current error.
Start by recording when the error appears
The error has been reported at startup and during play. A report on Wizards’ feedback forum describes both situations, but does not identify the underlying cause: Wizards feedback forum report.
- Note whether it appears while launching the client, in the middle of a match, or when opening a particular screen or asset.
- Write down your platform and how you run the game—for example, PC through Steam, Mac, Android, or iOS.
- If it began after an update, record when you first noticed it and check Wizards’ current Arena announcements or support information for a relevant notice. The available information does not establish a current incident or an official fix specific to this error.
Check whether the Turkish-language case applies
A historical MTG Arena patch note said: “Players who have their Windows display language set to Turkish may encounter an ‘Asset Error Detected’ warning that forcibly exits the game.” The note also said the issue was addressed in an update. This describes a specific past Windows-language case, not a confirmed explanation or general fix for current reports. Do not change your Windows display language unless you have reason to think that exact situation applies.

Do not assume reinstalling or verifying files will solve it
Verifying game files or reinstalling may seem like obvious steps for an asset-related error, but the available evidence does not establish either as a reliable fix. One recent community report describes the error persisting after file verification and repeated reinstalls; that is an individual account, not proof that these steps never help: community report on Wizards’ feedback forum.
Before taking disruptive steps, check for current guidance from Wizards and preserve the details of when the issue occurs. Avoid deleting folders or changing system settings based on an unverified fix.

Send Wizards a useful report if the error continues
Use the Wizards support request form or the Arena feedback forum. Include enough detail for someone to understand and reproduce the problem:
- Your platform and client source.
- What you were doing immediately before the error appeared.
- Steps to reproduce it, if you can reproduce it.
- What actually happened and what you expected to happen.
- Whether it began after an update, and whether it happens at launch, during a match, or on a particular screen.
- A relevant screenshot or video, if available.
Wizards’ bug-report guidance asks for platform, reproduction steps, actual and expected results, and relevant screenshots or video. Its support form also asks users to provide as much information as possible: Arena bug-report forum.
