Yes—Season 5 was MultiVersus’s final season, and its online service ended on May 30, 2025. The game was also removed from the listed digital storefronts. Some existing players can still play offline, but only if they installed the latest version and logged in during Season 5 before the shutdown.

Was Season 5 really the last season of MultiVersus?

Yes. Warner Bros. Games Support confirmed in its MultiVersus – Season 5 FAQ: “Yes, Season 5 will serve as the final season for MultiVersus.” Season 5 ran from February 4, 2025, at 9 a.m. PST until May 30, 2025, at 9 a.m. PDT.

The season included Aquaman and Lola Bunny, along with a 70-tier Battle Pass, events, and challenges. Its end marked the end of seasonal content and online service—not every form of play.

Can you still play MultiVersus?

Offline play remains available to players who completed the required steps before the shutdown. Warner Bros. Games said the game would be playable offline “for the foreseeable future”; it did not give a fixed expiry date or promise permanent access.

If you logged in during Season 5

Players needed to install or download the latest version and log in before May 30, 2025. The game then created a local save tied to the player’s platform account. The process had to be completed separately on each supported platform where the player wanted offline access.

If you did not complete those steps

The FAQ does not establish a way for new players, or players who missed the Season 5 login requirement, to obtain offline access after the shutdown. The game was removed from the listed digital storefronts: PlayStation Network, Microsoft Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store.

What happened to purchases and in-game currency?

Real-money transactions were no longer available starting January 31, 2025. Existing Gleamium and character tickets could be used until Season 5 ended on May 30. Before that cutoff, remaining character tickets could be exchanged for Gleamium through the in-game store.

The shutdown announcement did not change the refund terms of the storefronts where purchases were made. Warner Bros. Games directed players to those storefronts’ support pages; it did not make a general statement that purchases were or were not refundable.

What “the end” means for MultiVersus

Season 5 was the end of new seasonal content and online service, and the game became unavailable for download through the listed storefronts. Offline play is a limited continuation for players who met the pre-shutdown requirements, not a way to access the former online game or a guarantee that the game will remain playable indefinitely. GameSpot also reported the shutdown and offline-access requirement in its coverage of the shutdown announcement.
