Players reported that the XRK Stalker’s No Stock attachment could remain locked or unavailable in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III even after leveling the rifle. Historical reports confirm the complaint, but the cited sources do not establish whether it still happens in the current game client or confirm an official fix specifically for that unlock problem.
What was the XRK Stalker No Stock problem?
The issue was an attachment unlock or availability problem in Gunsmith: players could not select No Stock for the XRK Stalker, including reports from players who said they had leveled the rifle. PiunikaWeb summarized those player reports in December 2023; it was secondary reporting, not an official diagnosis. PiunikaWeb’s December 2023 report and a January 2024 Steam discussion document the question and reports.

Is No Stock still bugged, and was it fixed?
The available historical sources do not verify the attachment’s status in the current client, on every platform, or after later updates. Activision’s Season 2 Patch Notes list XRK Stalker changes to its Factory Iron Sight and aim-down-sight timing, but the cited entries do not explicitly say that the No Stock unlock issue was fixed.
Activision’s Season 4 Patch Notes mention No Stock in connection with the Kar98k: the change addressed optics being obstructed. That is a different weapon and a different issue, so it does not confirm the XRK Stalker unlock status.

What can you try in Gunsmith?
Check the XRK Stalker’s live Gunsmith attachment menu to see whether No Stock is currently selectable and what unlock requirement the game displays. If it remains unavailable, the historical discussions offer an anecdotal workaround, not a verified fix:
- One Reddit discussion suggests equipping the XRK Stalker from a Battle Pass slot, then editing the base weapon. The post does not establish that this works reliably or remains applicable to the current client. See the XRK Stalker No Stock attachment discussion.
- Compare the attachment’s displayed requirement with your current unlock progress, and check current official patch notes for a specific XRK Stalker No Stock change. A January 2024 Steam reply expected a patch, but that comment alone does not prove a patch was released or resolved the issue.
Other replies in the community discussions give differing unlock claims. Treat them as player anecdotes rather than guaranteed steps; the sources do not establish a universal workaround.
