Choose My Friendly Neighborhood for puppet-focused survival horror
The premise starts with a children’s puppet show returning to the air, and Gordon is sent to investigate. Its published feature list points to a more explicitly system-driven survival-horror loop: consult the map, solve puzzles, manage a grid-based inventory in real time, and use the weapons available to you. If you enjoy figuring out how to move through an environment while balancing limited space and tools, this is the clearer match.
The official feature list also names varied environments and Neighborhorde, a post-game mode. Those details suggest more than a single premise-driven hook, but they do not establish how long the game is or how its difficulty compares with Poppy Playtime.

MOB’s Chapter 5 announcement highlights puzzles, evading toy experiments, and factory exploration.
Chapter 5 was announced as available on Steam on February 18, 2026. That date and platform apply to the Steam announcement; they do not establish that Chapter 5 launched simultaneously on consoles or mobile.

Which game should you play first?

Both use mascot-horror imagery, but their hooks are distinct: a revived puppet television show in one, a toy factory in the other. Official descriptions do not provide a controlled comparison of which is scarier, longer, more difficult, or more polished, so those are not sound grounds for a general recommendation here.

My Friendly Neighborhood launched on Steam on July 18, 2023, according to its Steam listing. Its developer announced that Xbox console and PlayStation 5 ports launched with that announcement, while describing some other platforms as future targets. Do not treat those future plans as confirmed releases.
