Its range of fan-focused modes makes it a fuller package than a simple roster fighter, but the evidence points to a familiar trade-off: accessible, satisfying spectacle for fans rather than a genre-defining combat system, with newcomer difficulty and uneven character balance as real caveats.
What kind of game is All’s Justice?
My Hero Academia: All’s Justice is a super-powered 3D arena fighter developed by Byking Inc. and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. Its story focuses on the Final War, with Hero and Villain perspectives and a climactic One For All versus All For One confrontation, as described by Bandai Namco. The premise makes it a finale-oriented adaptation rather than an all-purpose introduction to the whole series.
The game’s appeal is broader than replaying that arc or fighting online. It combines cinematic story material with team battles, a map-based mission mode, series-spanning battles, and character-specific daily-life stories. That variety is the strongest case for its ambition: it gives fans different ways to spend time with the cast, even if the core arena-fighting format will feel familiar to genre veterans.
How do the modes serve My Hero Academia fans?
Story Mode
Story Mode retells the Final War through Hero and Villain perspectives and includes game-exclusive cinematics, according to Bandai Namco’s modes announcement. The focus on the series’ climactic conflict gives the game a clear emotional center, though players unfamiliar with the franchise may find the story harder to follow—and, according to Meristation’s review, the mode’s difficulty can also catch newcomers off guard.

Team Up Mission
Team Up Mission takes Class 1-A into a Virtual Space where players explore, meet characters, train, complete missions, and find collectibles. Steam’s product listing describes the setting, while Bandai Namco outlines the activities. This more explorable structure adds a change of pace to the combat, and it was one of the elements PC Gamer’s Wes Fenlon highlighted in a hands-on preview. Fenlon also questioned whether that extra space meaningfully expands the depth of an arena fighter, a useful distinction: more to do is not automatically a deeper fighting system.
Archives Battle and Hero’s Diary
Archives Battle revisits iconic fights from across the series, while Hero’s Diary gives Class 1-A characters original stories and daily-life missions, as set out in Bandai Namco’s mode details. These modes are aimed squarely at people who want more context and character time, not just another match. Taken together with Story Mode and Team Up Mission, they make the package feel more complete as a franchise adaptation than a single campaign plus PvP would.

What is combat like?
Combat is built around three-character teams, with active swaps intended to extend combos, counter an opponent’s tactics, or turn defense into offense. Bandai Namco’s combat announcement lists tools including Target Combo, Counter Attack, Guard, Unblockable Attack, Evade, and Counter Crash. That gives team selection and swap timing a central role: the fantasy is not simply choosing a favorite character, but coordinating a small roster as the momentum of a fight changes.
The system’s accessible presentation is part of its appeal, especially for fans who want to see recognizable characters use their abilities in fast arena battles. It is also where expectations need managing. Meristation describes the gameplay as accessible, but reports that character balance is inconsistent. PC Gamer’s preview raises the broader genre question of whether controllable swapping adds enough strategic depth beyond the pleasure of playing favorite characters. These are reviewer assessments, not a universal verdict, but they point to the same limitation: the game’s spectacle and roster may be more compelling than its competitive balance.

Is All’s Justice worth it?
For My Hero Academia fans, the case is strongest when the game is treated as a varied celebration of the cast and the Final War. The story, team combat, explorable missions, archival battles, and original character episodes offer several forms of fan service rather than relying on PvP alone. Meristation’s Alberto Zaragoza Lerma calls it the most complete My Hero Academia game to date and says its modes and accessible play should appeal to fans.
That recommendation is narrower for players outside the franchise. Meristation warns that the game can feel generic if the characters and world are not already a draw. And for players seeking a particularly deep or tightly balanced fighter, the reported roster disparities and PC Gamer’s doubts about genre depth are reasons to temper expectations. The most defensible description is a substantial licensed arena fighter that makes its strongest impression through breadth and character appeal, not a reinvention of the genre.

Is it approachable if you are new to the series or arena fighters?
The controls and combat are described as accessible by Meristation, which may help players who are new to arena fighters. But accessibility does not mean every part is an easy entry point: the Final War story assumes a climactic place in the series, and Meristation says its difficulty can surprise players unfamiliar with the franchise or the genre. Newcomers should expect to learn both the game’s combat conventions and the context behind its finale-focused story.
