But that does not prove Nintendo Switch 2 literally identifies it as a Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller. The strongest accurate claim is that it reproduces several first-party behaviors—not that it has fooled the console wholesale.
That distinction matters when the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller costs roughly $89.99. The S10 Lite could be a compelling budget or second controller, but features such as NFC/Amiibo support, HD Rumble 2, battery life, button quality, and long-term firmware support remain important unknowns unless you test them directly.

What is the EasySMX S10 Lite?
The S10 Lite is a wireless third-party controller marketed for Nintendo Switch 2, the original Nintendo Switch, Windows 7/8/8.1/10/11, Android, and iOS. EasySMX lists it at $39.99 and advertises:
- Switch 2 wake-up support
- A dedicated C button for GameChat-related functions
- 9-axis motion control
- Hall Effect sticks
- Rear buttons
- Firmware updates intended to address Switch 2 compatibility
Those are manufacturer claims, not independent test results. Compatibility also varies by platform: wireless input on a PC or phone does not necessarily mean every Switch 2-specific feature works there.

EasySMX describes the controller as communicating with Switch 2 “as naturally as an official controller” and refers to native Switch 2 compatibility. “Native” is marketing language here, not a Nintendo-certified technical standard. EasySMX’s product page does not, by itself, prove that the console assigns the S10 Lite the same software identity as Nintendo’s controller.
What does “Nintendo’s $90 controller” mean?
The comparison is with the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, whose launch pricing is commonly reported at approximately $89.99 in the U.S. The relevant question is not whether the S10 Lite looks similar or costs $50 less. It is whether it delivers the functions a Switch 2 owner actually needs.
| Function | EasySMX S10 Lite | Switch 2 Pro Controller | What can safely be said |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wireless Switch 2 play | Advertised | Officially supported | Requires hands-on confirmation for the S10 Lite |
| Wake from sleep | Advertised | First-party behavior | Test from actual sleep mode |
| C button | Advertised | First-party feature | Test GameChat and system behavior |
| Motion control | 9-axis advertised | Supported first-party feature | “9-axis” does not prove identical accuracy |
| Hall Effect sticks | Advertised | Do not assume the same technology | Hall Effect reduces one common wear-related drift mechanism; it is not drift immunity |
| Rear buttons | Advertised | Different layout and feature set | Potential advantage for some games |
| HD Rumble 2 | Not established | First-party feature | Do not assume equivalent vibration |
| NFC/Amiibo | Not established | Important first-party feature | Verify before buying if Amiibo matters |
| Official Nintendo support | Not established | Yes | A major difference in warranty and compatibility risk |
Does Switch 2 actually think it is a Nintendo controller?
The available documentation does not establish that. A third-party controller can use compatible communication behavior and activate Switch 2-specific functions while still appearing as a generic or third-party device in the console interface.

- Pair the S10 Lite while the console is awake.
- Open HOME → Controllers and the controller-order or pairing screen.
- Record the displayed name, icon, player assignment, and button prompts.
- Put the console into sleep mode and test the S10 Lite’s advertised wake command.
- Open the C-button/GameChat interface and check whether the button triggers the same function as Nintendo’s Pro Controller.
- Pair the Nintendo controller separately and compare the screens.
If Switch 2 labels the S10 Lite as an EasySMX or generic controller, the “Nintendo’s controller” wording is headline shorthand. If it displays the same name and icon, screenshots or video would be needed to substantiate the stronger claim. Without that evidence, the accurate description is: the S10 Lite behaves like a Switch 2-native controller in selected ways.
Nintendo’s official support material documents pairing behavior for its own Pro Controller, including wireless and USB pairing, but it does not say that an EasySMX controller will be identified as a Nintendo Pro Controller. Nintendo also says pairing must be performed while the console is powered on, not asleep. See Nintendo’s controller-pairing guidance.
Which Switch 2 features matter most?
Wake from sleep
Wake-up is one of the S10 Lite’s most meaningful advertised features. Test it from the console’s actual sleep state, rather than from a powered-on menu. Check whether it works with the controller already paired, whether the controller is powered off or merely idle, and whether it still works after a console restart.

A failed wake test does not necessarily mean the controller cannot play wirelessly once connected. Wake-up is a separate system-level behavior and should be evaluated separately.

The C button and GameChat
The dedicated C button is another reason this controller is more interesting than a generic Switch gamepad. The important test is not whether the button exists, but whether it opens GameChat under the same conditions as Nintendo’s controller.
Check whether GameChat has been configured, whether a microphone or headset is required, and whether the button behaves consistently from the HOME Menu, in a supported game, and after waking the console. A button that sends the expected command is not proof that every first-party audio or chat feature is replicated.
Motion controls
EasySMX advertises 9-axis motion control. That should make motion-based aiming and calibration possible in compatible games, but the phrase does not establish that the sensors have the same accuracy, latency, calibration behavior, or feel as Nintendo’s implementation.
Hall Effect sticks
Hall Effect sensors are designed to reduce one common source of wear-related stick drift. They are not a guarantee that drift is impossible. Dead zones, response curves, calibration, firmware, and physical wear can still affect the experience.

Rear buttons
Rear buttons may be more useful than first-party branding for players who want extra inputs in shooters, action games, or accessibility-focused setups. Confirm where they can be programmed and whether assignments work on Switch 2, PC, or both. A rear button being present does not automatically mean every game recognizes it as a separate input.
What might the extra $50 buy?
The Nintendo controller’s premium is not simply a charge for a logo. It can represent first-party firmware, Nintendo’s support path, more predictable system integration, and hardware features that are not established for the S10 Lite.
- Rumble: The S10 Lite’s exact vibration system and performance are not confirmed by the supplied product information. Do not assume HD Rumble 2.
- NFC and Amiibo: Support is not established for the S10 Lite. This can be decisive for Amiibo users.
- Battery life: No controlled battery-duration result is available here.
- Ergonomics: Weight, dimensions, grip comfort, trigger feel, button quality, and D-pad behavior require hands-on evaluation.
- Firmware: EasySMX advertises a Switch 2 compatibility update, which suggests that firmware state can matter. The exact version, updater, operating-system requirements, and recovery process are not established.
- Future compatibility: A third-party controller may require another update after a console firmware change. That is a risk, not proof that Nintendo intends to block it.
Nintendo says up to eight wireless controllers can be connected in appropriate circumstances, although the actual maximum varies by controller type and features in use. Its wired-communication instructions are at Nintendo Support; Nintendo notes that enabling wired communication disables the Pro Controller’s NFC touchpoint. Do not assume an S10 Lite behaves identically in wired mode.
Pairing and troubleshooting
Nintendo’s instructions are written for its Pro Controller, so the following is a practical verification path for the S10 Lite rather than an official EasySMX procedure:
Best Value
- Works with Nintendo Switch 2. C button not available
- Wireless controller with Bluetooth 5.0 technology
- Rechargeable lithium-ion battery: Up to 30 hours per charge
- Two mappable Advanced Gaming Buttons and immersive motion control
- Embedded anti-friction rings for smooth thumbstick control
- Turn on the Switch 2. Do not attempt initial pairing while it is asleep.
- Open HOME → Controllers and select the controller-order or pairing option.
- Hold the S10 Lite’s sync button until it enters pairing mode.
- Confirm player assignment and test ordinary button input.
- Test the C button and motion controls in the system or a compatible game.
- Put the console to sleep and test wake-up.
- If supported, try USB pairing or wired play.
- Check the EasySMX support page for the current S10 Lite firmware before concluding that the controller is defective.
The supplied information confirms that EasySMX advertises a compatibility-fix firmware update, but it does not establish the exact firmware number, updater, Windows or macOS requirements, reversibility, or recovery procedure. Do not disconnect the controller during an update, and obtain the precise instructions from EasySMX before attempting one.
If wireless play works but a particular feature does not, separate system behavior from game behavior. Not every game uses motion aiming, rear buttons, advanced vibration, voice chat, or NFC. A controller can be connected correctly while a game simply does not support the feature you are testing.
Who should buy the S10 Lite?
Choose the S10 Lite if:
- You want to spend about $40 instead of about $90.
- You need a second controller for multiplayer or family use.
- Wake-up and the C button matter more than Nintendo branding.
- You value Hall Effect sticks and rear buttons.
- You also want one controller for Switch, PC, Android, or iOS.
- You are comfortable checking firmware if compatibility changes.
Choose Nintendo’s Pro Controller if:
- You want the least uncertainty about first-party system integration.
- NFC/Amiibo support is important.
- Rumble quality and system-level behavior matter more than price.
- You expect heavy, long-term use and want Nintendo’s support path.
- You do not want to depend on a third-party firmware update after a console update.
Verdict
The EasySMX S10 Lite is not best understood as a $40 Nintendo Pro Controller clone. It is a $39.99 third-party controller that targets several features many cheaper gamepads omit: Switch 2 wake-up, a C button, motion controls, Hall Effect sticks, and rear buttons.
That makes it a potentially strong value, especially as a second controller. But until a hands-on comparison shows exactly what name and icon Switch 2 displays—and verifies NFC, rumble, GameChat, battery life, and long-term firmware behavior—the defensible claim is narrower: the S10 Lite can behave like Nintendo’s controller in selected Switch 2 situations, without being proven identical to Nintendo’s hardware.
For the most reliable first-party experience, pay the premium. For budget-conscious buyers who mainly want modern inputs and Switch 2-specific basics, the S10 Lite is the more interesting gamble.
