Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3: Wrecked introduced three boss medallions: The Machinist’s restores Shield over time, Ringmaster Scarr’s grants infinite ammo and a small damage buff, and Megalo Don’s grants infinite Nitro. Each came with a risk: carrying one marked you on opponents’ maps, and carrying more made your location easier to pinpoint.
What do the new medallions do in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3?
Each medallion offered a different advantage, so the best fit depended on whether you valued staying power, sustained fire, or fast movement. These are the effects stated by Epic Games for Chapter 5 Season 3, not results from independent testing.

All three benefits came with the same visibility cost. Epic said that a player carrying a medallion was marked on opponents’ maps; carrying more made the radius around the player’s exact location more precise. That makes each medallion a power-for-visibility tradeoff, not an unqualified upgrade. Epic’s Chapter 5 Season 3 announcement describes the mechanics.
Where do I find The Machinist, Ringmaster Scarr, and Megalo Don?
The bosses’ associated lairs were Redline Rig for The Machinist, the Nitrodrome for Ringmaster Scarr, and Brutal Beachhead for Megalo Don. Defeating a boss caused that boss’s medallion to drop.

Those locations were lairs, not guaranteed spawn points: Epic said the Wasteland Warriors could also appear in convoys. The announcement does not promise that a named boss would always be waiting at the associated location.
Do medallions reveal your location in Fortnite?
Yes. In Chapter 5 Season 3, carrying any medallion marked you on opponents’ maps. Carrying additional medallions made the radius indicating your exact location more precise, increasing the risk of being tracked as you collected more power.

Epic’s season announcement lists some features excluded from tournaments, including drivable vehicles and vehicle equipment, but does not specifically say whether these medallions were excluded. That announcement alone is not enough to make a definite claim about tournament eligibility.
