Stellar Blade and SAND LAND both launched on April 26, 2024—but they offer very different games. Stellar Blade is a PS5-exclusive, story-driven action adventure built around character combat; SAND LAND is an action RPG with melee fighting and customizable vehicles, available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.

The shared date does not mean shared platform reach. If you need a version for PS4, Xbox Series X|S or Steam, SAND LAND is the one of these two available on those platforms. If you want a PS5-only release focused on character-centered action, Stellar Blade is the closer fit.

What kind of game is Stellar Blade?
PlayStation describes Stellar Blade as a single-player, story-driven action adventure set on a devastated Earth after humanity has fled to a space colony. Its fast-paced combat includes RPG elements, but the central distinction from SAND LAND is the focus on the player character’s attacks, defensive timing and evasion rather than building and driving combat vehicles.
PlayStation says learning enemy patterns matters and identifies two difficulty settings. The game launched April 26, 2024, and PlayStation confirms a Blu-ray version as well as digital purchase. The page’s current edition and add-on listings can change, so they should not be read as a record of launch-day offers.

What kind of game is SAND LAND?
SAND LAND is an action RPG adapted from Akira Toriyama’s manga. Its desert setting is suffering severe water shortages, and the story follows Beelzebub, Sheriff Rao and Thief as they search for a Legendary Spring. Bandai Namco named ILCA Inc. as developer and Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. as publisher in its launch announcement.
Alongside melee combat, vehicles are a major part of its exploration and fighting. Bandai Namco’s pre-launch demo announcement described both types of combat, while a PlayStation Blog post by Ryan Wagner detailed vehicles such as a Hovercar and Hovertank and customization using parts for weapons, engines and suspensions. These are publisher descriptions of the game’s systems, not a claim about how they feel in play.

Bandai Namco announced Standard, Deluxe and Collector’s editions. That establishes an announced edition range, not current stock, retailer availability or pricing.

Can you buy physical copies?
Yes. PlayStation confirms that Stellar Blade was sold on Blu-ray as well as digitally. Bandai Namco announced multiple SAND LAND editions for its console and PC platforms. Those announcements do not establish what a particular retailer has in stock now or what it charges; check the listing for your chosen platform and region before buying.
