Terraria 1.4.5 added nine named Summoner whips and a Dead Cells crossover weapon collection. The whips share a practical role: striking an enemy marks it as the target for your minions and sentries, while also applying a whip-specific tag effect. Re-Logic confirms the crossover weapons are re-imagined from Dead Cells, but its launch overview does not explain each weapon’s attack or name the full set.
What new weapons were added in Terraria 1.4.5?
The Bigger & Boulder update launched on January 27, 2026, for PC, console, and mobile. The bespoke China Mobile version was not part of that rollout. Re-Logic described the update as adding more than 650 items overall and taking Terraria’s total past 6,000; those are update-wide item counts, not weapon counts. Re-Logic’s launch announcement

The two weapon groups highlighted in the available official material are new Summoner whips and weapons from the Dead Cells crossover. The official Terraria Wiki changelog names nine new whips and counts five crossover weapons. That five-weapon figure comes from the Wiki changelog, not Re-Logic’s launch overview. What do the new whips do?
The new whips are Cobwhip, Slime Whip, Soulscourge, Vasculash, Starcrash, Vulgar Display of Flower, Electric Eel, Constellation, and Possession. A whip does more for a Summoner than deal close-range damage: the last enemy struck becomes the target for the player’s minions and sentries. Whips also apply tag effects to enemies they hit, letting the player direct summon attacks while adding the tag associated with the weapon. Official Terraria Wiki whip reference

- Targeting: strike the enemy you want your minions and sentries to focus on. Hitting another enemy changes the target.
- Tag effect: each whip can add a special effect when it hits. The exact effect belongs to the individual weapon, so the shared mechanic does not establish what any one of these nine tags does.
The changelog listing and general whip reference establish the names and shared role, but not each new whip’s exact damage, tag effect, recipe, drop condition, range, or progression point. Check the item entry for the specific weapon and the current game build before relying on those details.
What are the Terraria Dead Cells weapons?
Re-Logic confirms that weapons taken from Dead Cells were re-imagined for Terraria. Its launch overview presents the crossover broadly rather than giving a complete item-by-item weapon list or describing how each one attacks. The Wiki changelog records five crossover weapons, but the available official launch material does not identify or explain them individually. - Classic Terraria gameplay now with console specific control system, and a friendly crafting/item interface.
- Online multiplayer with you to 8 players! Split-screen multiplayer 2-4 players.
- New Enemies and Final Boss, as well as Ultimate Weapons, new Armors and Pets never seen before!
- Hundreds of weapons, armor and other items to craft, with character advancement.
- Over 25 different block types to build whatever you imagine!
That means the reliable takeaway is the crossover category, not a specific attack pattern, damage class, or use case for each weapon. Re-Logic also notes that it does not reveal everything in an update, even in a full changelog, because discovery is part of the experience.

Launch-day descriptions and values are not necessarily current. Re-Logic’s later 1.4.5.x updates include balance and functionality changes to existing items, alongside new items and fixes. Its 1.4.5.7 post called that release the last planned Bigger & Boulder hotfix barring critical fixes; a September 2026 roundup also referred to remaining fixes from 1.4.5.8. For exact stats or behavior, use a reference that matches the version you are playing rather than assuming an early 1.4.5 value still applies.
