The October 14, 2024 Icy Veins guides frame Blunderbuss primarily as a PvP weapon: it can bring burst, anti-heal debuffs, defense, and crowd control to fights. It can pressure healers and other priority targets, or contribute burst and control from the frontline. Its PvE case is weaker, especially in mutated expeditions, where the guide says more consistent options generally outperform it.
This is a dated build reference, not a verified 2026 meta recommendation. Amazon Games’ later Season of the Divide patch notes document further Blunderbuss balance changes, including damage balancing and a Run and Gun change.
Choose a PvP role, armor weight, and pairing
The featured PvP builds share the same Blunderbuss ability core, but their armor and second weapon change the job. Use the setup that matches how you intend to enter a fight.

How to adapt Blunderbuss for PvE
The October 14, 2024 Icy Veins PvE guide does not recommend Blunderbuss as a default mutated-expedition DPS choice. Its damage is described as inconsistent, and melee alternatives such as War Hammer are generally more effective. If you choose Blunderbuss anyway, adapt a PvP build to expedition needs instead of carrying its PvP defensive setup across unchanged.

- Weapon perk: Favor Bane rather than Plagued Splitting Grenade.
- Jewelry: Use PvE-focused amulet and ring priorities.
- Consumables: Use PvE weapon coatings.
- Second weapon: War Hammer is the stronger common pairing in the guide; Ice Gauntlet is another option.
These changes address the difference between PvP survival and expedition damage priorities. They do not turn Blunderbuss into the guide’s preferred general-purpose expedition weapon.
Execution matters in PvP
The PvP guide cautions that Blunderbuss can feel awkward to land and that hits may fail to register. It can also feel immobile when played poorly. Positioning, movement, and aiming are part of making the build work: set up the engagement with your chosen pairing and avoid relying on the ability names alone to secure pressure.

What changed after the 2024 guide snapshot
The Season of the Divide notes show why the build should be read with its date attached. They include the statement, “Did some additional reduction for it to be a little bit weaker in PvP to address balance,” alongside Blunderbuss changes including Run and Gun. The cited notes establish that balance continued after the October 2024 guides; they do not establish that the 2024 configurations are optimal for the current 2026 game.
