Electronic Arts’ numbered Need for Speed Unbound car roster contains 143 entries, but that is not a complete count of every vehicle in the updated game. EA’s October 10, 2023 list numbers the main roster from 1 to 143 and separately names vehicles added in Volumes 2–9. The current game page also identifies a motorcycle and Lockdown Hot Rides that sit outside that numbered roster. Here’s how the lists differ, where to find particular additions, and the complete 143-entry roster as EA published it.
How many cars are in Need for Speed Unbound?
EA’s October 10, 2023 car-list article has 143 numbered entries. Treat that as the count for the article’s main roster—not a confirmed total for every car, custom variant, or mode-specific vehicle in the fully updated game. The same article lists Volumes 2–9 additions in separate sections.

For current content, EA’s game page also describes the 2019 BMW S 1000 RR motorcycle and Lockdown Hot Rides. Neither is included in the old article’s 143 numbered entries. Custom cars and later additions also make a single all-in total misleading: EA’s pages distinguish the base roster, post-launch additions, and special content rather than publishing one reconciled total.
Cars added in Volumes 2–9
EA’s car-list article labels these separately from its numbered roster. Its “Custom” labels matter: a custom version is not necessarily a separate base model. The article does not provide a complete unlock walkthrough for every vehicle.

How to get the Honda Integra Type R and other late-game content
EA says the Vol. 9 Premium Speed Pass immediately grants the 1998 Honda Integra Type R and opens access to bodykits and two custom versions of the new Vol. 9 cars. EA’s Ultimate Collection description says it includes access to all post-launch premium content and the Vol. 9 Premium Speed Pass. The Ultimate Collection announcement describes the bundle as including 9 fully customizable cars, over 45 Customs, and hundreds of cosmetics; those figures describe the bundle’s content, not the number of distinct entries in the 2023 roster.
There are also separate product paths. Steam’s DLC catalog lists examples including the Vol. 8 Dynamic Catch-Up Pack, the Porsche 959 S ’87 set, the Vol. 9 Premium Speed Pass, an Ultimate Collection upgrade, and Vol. 6/7 catch-up packs and car sets. What you receive depends on your platform, region, owned edition, and the specific listing. Check the relevant storefront’s current entitlement details before buying; a listed vehicle or pass should not be assumed to be included in every edition or immediately available through gameplay.

Lockdown Hot Rides and the BMW motorcycle
EA describes Lockdown Hot Rides as vehicles obtained by escaping the Lockdown Zone. Its current page names Racer X’s BMW M3 GTR and 15 rides inspired by Most Wanted’s Blacklist; escape unlocks vehicles for Free Roam, PVP, and Lockdown. These Hot Rides are additional mode-related content, not entries in the 143-number roster.
The 2019 BMW S 1000 RR is a motorcycle, not a car. EA says it is playable in Lockdown and selected special PVP/Free Roam playlists. Bikes can enter Lockups without paying and are impervious to the Zone, according to EA’s game page.

Is NFS Unbound still receiving updates?
EA’s game page displays its February 3, 2025 “END OF KAIZEN REVIEW” announcement, whose title says there will be no more updates. That is an announcement that updates have ended; it does not establish that online services or modes have shut down.
