How do you get Nightingale Armor?
The armor is obtained during the Thieves Guild questline. A Skyrim guide describes meeting Karliah at the Standing Stone, entering Nightingale Hall, and activating the armor stone to receive the set. A Steam community page also associates the armor with the questline. Those sources support the broad acquisition route, but do not establish a complete, edition-specific walkthrough of every prerequisite and quest step.
Does Nightingale Armor get better at higher levels?
The cited community item reference lists stronger chest-piece stamina and frost-resistance values in higher acquisition-level bands. Because the set is described as leveled, the level at which it is obtained matters to the version of the item you receive. The supplied references do not establish whether or how you can upgrade an already acquired copy to the higher-band values.

Can mods change Nightingale Armor?
Yes. Community mods show that modded versions can change the set’s armor classification, effects, or enchantments. Those changes are specific to the installed mod and are not the default behavior of the base-game set.

What to check before choosing a modded version
- Edition and platform: Confirm that the mod supports your copy of Skyrim and the platform you play on.
- Type of change: Check whether it affects appearance, armor classification, enchantments, or more than one of these.
- Level scaling: Find out whether the mod changes the set’s level-dependent behavior or when you acquire it.
- Other mods: Review installation requirements and compatibility notes, and follow any variant-selection advice specific to the mod.
