The Ningtendo PXBOX 5 is a creator-built console mod that puts a PlayStation 5, an Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2 dock hardware in one chassis, with one HDMI connection and a way to switch between systems. It is not a retail all-in-one, and the design runs one game at a time. The Xbox model is disputed in published accounts: Notebookcheck and Galaxus identify a Series S, while Tom’s Hardware calls it a Series X.
What the Ningtendo PXBOX 5 combines
Created by 小宁子 XNZ, the project strips down the consoles and arranges their essential boards inside a shared custom enclosure. Rather than keep three separate devices and switch HDMI cables, the build routes the selected console to a single HDMI port. Lighting indicates which system is active, and a button on top changes the selection.

How the shared chassis is built
Console boards and cooling
Notebookcheck says the layout takes inspiration from Apple’s cylindrical “trashcan” Mac Pro and uses a central air channel. Tom’s Hardware describes a triangular heatsink made through lost-wax casting after CNC machining was considered too expensive. The consoles’ boards are arranged around this custom cooling assembly rather than housed in their original cases.

Tom’s Hardware reports a Phanteks T30 120 mm fan as part of the build. That is a detail of this particular project, not evidence that the fan alone is sufficient or that the same parts will work in another enclosure.
The Switch 2 remains removable
The Switch 2 is not permanently built into the case as a handheld. Its dock board is housed in the custom enclosure, while the handheld can be ejected and reconnected. The creator’s comment that the Switch 2 “doesn’t need cooling,” quoted by Tom’s Hardware, refers to the Switch 2 side of this heatsink design—not a general statement about the console’s cooling needs in every setup.

Power and switching impose practical limits
Tom’s Hardware reports that the build uses a shared 250 W GaN power supply and that the PS5 and Xbox can each draw up to 225 W at full load in its account. Those figures explain the one-at-a-time design: the systems share the power supply rather than operate concurrently.

This is therefore a compact way to keep several platforms connected, not a way to jump instantly between active games.

What the reported build does—and does not—include
- One output connection: a control board, which Notebookcheck identifies as Arduino-based, manages selection and sends the chosen system to the single HDMI port.
- No optical drives in Tom’s Hardware’s account: its PS5 and Xbox versions lack disc drives, making that reported configuration digital-only.
- Custom parts: the enclosure, heatsink and control setup are project-specific. The reports do not establish a universal parts list or a validated recipe for other builders.
Tom’s Hardware also reports that after XNZ replaced the PS5’s liquid-metal thermal interface material with standard thermal paste, the creator recorded a peak temperature of 60 °C. That is the creator’s reported test result, not an independent test or a general temperature benchmark for PS5 consoles.
Why the Xbox model is unclear
The reporting does not agree on which Xbox is inside. Notebookcheck and Galaxus identify an Xbox Series S; Tom’s Hardware identifies a Series X. The discrepancy is unresolved, so the safest description is simply “Xbox” unless referring to a specific outlet’s account.

Is the Ningtendo PXBOX 5 something you can buy?
It is described as XNZ’s custom mod, not a commercial console or a set of retail versions. The reports do not establish a sale price, component availability, or a route to purchase the finished build. Its significance is the engineering challenge: fitting three platform ecosystems into one case while sharing power, cooling and display output, with the trade-off that only one system can run at a time.
