That date has passed, and the announcement’s “pre-order now” wording does not confirm that orders or stock are currently available. Check the seller’s live listing and confirm regional compatibility before buying.
Can you still preorder the physical PS5 edition?
Current preorder status, inventory, price, shipping estimates, and an Amazon listing have not been confirmed. Playasia’s announcement page may still show preorder language, but the retailer warns availability can change without notice. Treat it as evidence that the edition was announced—not proof that a copy is in stock today.

The game first launched digitally on January 23, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC, according to KOEI TECMO America’s launch announcement. The announcement also listed availability through Steam and the Microsoft Store, and said the game was available through Game Pass on console, PC, and cloud.
#1 Best Overall
- This is the definitive edition of the NINJA GAIDEN 2, which includes the addition of playable characters and battle support features
Team NINJA’s official game page describes the title as digitally available and labels its listed platforms “Only available digitally.” That wording concerns the platforms and digital availability shown on that page; it does not erase Playasia’s separately announced, retailer-distributed PS5 disc edition.
What the game and disc offer
Ninja Gaiden 2 Black follows Ryu Hayabusa, wielder of the Dragon Sword. Team NINJA says the remaster uses Unreal Engine 5 to redesign stages, characters, effects, and lighting. Its combat features weapons including swords, shuriken, kusarigama, and tonfa. Momiji, Ayane, and Rachel are also playable, and HERO PLAY STYLE can provide automatic support in difficult situations. Dismemberment can be toggled in the options.

Subtitle and language information
Playasia’s physical-edition announcement lists subtitles in Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. The US PlayStation Store listing gives the same eight screen languages, specifying France French, and lists English and Japanese voice languages. Check the specific package or seller listing for the language details that apply to the copy you are buying.
Regional compatibility
In dated replies on the announcement page, Playasia said the disc could play on US PS5 consoles and in Sweden. Those are retailer statements posted in 2025, not a comprehensive compatibility guarantee for every country or console configuration. Ask the seller to confirm the requirements for your region before ordering.

- Mortal Kombat: Armageddon PS2
What to check before buying
- Confirm that the listing is for the PS5 physical edition, rather than a digital code or another version.
- Ask whether the item is actually in stock and whether the listed price and delivery estimate apply to your location.
- Confirm the disc’s compatibility with your PS5 and region, and check the package’s subtitle languages.
- Compare the full delivered price and seller terms, not just the displayed item price.
For the original announcement and its availability caveat, see Playasia’s January 24, 2025 announcement. Its launch date is historical; the page alone cannot establish whether the edition can still be ordered.
