Ninja Gaiden 4: The Two Masters launched on March 4, 2026, and is now listed as available. The expansion continues the story after the main campaign with three chapters, two weapons, and the Abyssal Road endurance mode.
What The Two Masters adds
Team NINJA describes the expansion as a post-campaign story in which Yakumo and Ryu Hayabusa face new threats. It adds three playable chapters featuring new levels, bosses, fiends, and trials.

Two new weapons
- Solitaire: Yakumo’s scythe, described by Team NINJA as suited to ranged attacks and crowd control.
- Jakotsumon: Ryu’s serpent gauntlets, described as enabling rapid close-range strikes and approaches.

Abyssal Road
Abyssal Road is an endurance mode built around successive combat encounters and escalating pressure. Xbox Wire specifies 100 unique encounters and also notes Special Blood Essence and Frenzied enemy mechanics. The encounter count is a publisher content specification, not an independently measured statistic.

When can you access the story, weapons, and challenges?
Access depends on what you want to play. The original campaign gates the expansion’s story, but not everything requires finishing both campaigns first.

Platforms, editions, and purchase requirements
The official listings cover Xbox Series X|S and PC, while Team NINJA also lists PS5. Availability can differ by region and storefront, so check the store for your platform before buying.

The Xbox Store lists the standalone add-on at $14.99 in the US and says it requires Ninja Gaiden 4, sold separately. Team NINJA lists The Two Masters as included with the Deluxe Edition and Deluxe Upgrade. Xbox Wire’s February 2026 launch announcement gave historical announcement prices of $89.99 for Deluxe Edition and $20 for Deluxe Upgrade; those are not confirmed current prices, so check your regional store for current offers and entitlements.
Team NINJA lists a physical PS5 Standard Edition and physical Deluxe Editions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Buying a physical Standard Edition is buying the base game, not necessarily the digital expansion. Confirm the edition and included content for your region, and if you already own Deluxe Edition or Deluxe Upgrade, check your entitlements before purchasing the add-on separately.

Xbox Wire said the associated update would include quality-of-life improvements, balance adjustments, and bug fixes, including responsiveness improvements and weapon-set customization. These are announced update contents; they do not by themselves establish independently verified technical results.
Release date
The announced release date was March 4, 2026. Team NINJA’s official DLC page now marks The Two Masters as “Available Now.” Tom Lee, Creative Director at Team Ninja, said in the Xbox Wire announcement: “We’re excited to announce that The Two Masters DLC for Ninja Gaiden 4 will be released to ninjas of all skill levels on March 4, 2026!”
