Nintendo announced that Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door would launch on Nintendo Switch on May 23, 2024, followed by Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD on June 27, 2024. Both dates have passed; the announcement was made on March 11, 2024, and Nintendo later listed the dates for Japan, the United States, and Europe.
What were the Nintendo Switch release dates?
| Game | Nintendo’s announced date | Nintendo’s listed regions |
|---|---|---|
| Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door | May 23, 2024 | Japan, United States, and Europe |
| Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD | June 27, 2024 | Japan, United States, and Europe |
Nintendo of America announced the dates on March 11, 2024. Nintendo’s investor-relations release schedule later listed both dates for those three regions, while cautioning that dates may differ within U.S. and European territories. Check local availability for a specific territory.
Nintendo’s March 11, 2024 announcement also described both games and listed a U.S. regular price of $59.99 each at that time. That is a historical price, not a verified current price. The announcement said preorders were available through Nintendo eShop and Nintendo.com then.

How Nintendo’s announcement fits today
The March 2024 post was a release-date announcement for two Nintendo Switch games, not a current notice that either title is still upcoming. Nintendo’s investor-relations schedule is a useful cross-check for the announced dates and broad regional listings, but its territory caveat means the listed date alone does not establish the exact local release day everywhere.
For current purchase information, verify the specific retailer listing: the cited announcement does not establish today’s price, stock, or whether a particular offer is physical or digital.
