A Nintendo Direct in July 2025 was rumored, and Nintendo did hold a presentation that month: a Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase on July 31. The rumor, reported on July 14, said a Direct would follow Donkey Kong Bananza’s July 17 release—but the source did not know its date, time, or content. The late-July timing was speculation, not a confirmed leak.
What the July 2025 rumor actually said
On July 14, Nintendo Life reported a claim from YouTuber and podcast host Nate the Hate that Nintendo would hold a Direct in July, after Donkey Kong Bananza released on July 17. He said: “What I have been told… There is a Direct this month, so the month of July. But, that Direct will not take place until after Donkey Kong Bananza releases.” Nintendo Life’s report also quoted his caveat that he had no information about the exact timing.

That distinction matters: the reported claim was a July show after the game’s release. A presentation in the last week of July was an estimate connected to Nintendo’s August 1 earnings report, not a date Nate the Hate said he knew. GameSpot’s July 14 coverage also described a July Direct as possible rather than announced, noting that Nintendo had not held one in July 2023 or 2024. Those earlier years were context, not evidence that a 2025 show could not happen.

Nintendo’s official archive records the completed event as Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase 7.31.2025. #1 Best Overall

- Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*

So the broad July timing proved correct, but the event’s identity should be stated precisely. Nintendo presented a Partner Showcase focused on publishing partners’ games, not a general first-party showcase. The official event archive highlights titles including Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0, Once Upon A KATAMARI, Just Dance 2026 Edition, DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, EA SPORTS FC 26, Persona 3 Reload, and Star Wars Outlaws. See Nintendo’s page for the full list.

Is there a Nintendo Direct this month?
That question referred to July 2025 in the original rumor coverage. It is no longer a live event preview: Nintendo’s July presentation has already taken place. The accurate historical answer is that a July Direct was rumored, and Nintendo held a Partner Showcase on July 31, but the original source did not establish the precise date or program details.
