Find the Hope Echo in the encounter area, interact with it, and choose one of the three benefits offered. Favours are limited-time effects—not permanent unlocks—and their duration depends on the specific Favour.
How to get a Favour in Nightingale
- Complete a Realm encounter. The in-game Codex says an encounter completion may award a Favour, so one is not guaranteed after every encounter.
- Look around the encounter area for a Hope Echo. The Codex describes these Echoes as the way to claim the benefit.
- Interact with the Hope Echo and select one of the three Favours presented.
The interaction can vary by encounter or game version. A Gamer Guides article published February 11, 2024, and last updated March 12, 2024, describes a Bastille reward as a wispy orb that cycles through the choices; the player interacts when the desired one appears. Treat that as dated guidance rather than a guarantee of how every current encounter behaves. Gamer Guides’ Favours guide

Which Favour should you choose?
The current official material available here does not establish a complete, up-to-date list of Favour names and effects. The older Gamer Guides article identifies three choices, but its descriptions should be treated as version-sensitive:

How long does a Favour last?
A Favour is temporary, but there is no verified universal duration for ordinary Favours. The in-game Codex says its benefit lasts for a limited duration without giving one general timer. In a November 6, 2025 update, Inflexion Games said the Empyrean Favour in Welkin’s Reach was extended from 10 minutes to 120 minutes and would persist through death. That is a specific change for that Realm’s Favour; it does not establish a two-hour duration or death persistence for all Favours. Inflexion Games’ Steam announcement archive

The Codex frames Favours as powers lent by Echoes. In the in-game “Hope’s Favour – Tutorials” narrative, a character explains that some Echoes give “some of their talents or strengths,” and that the power is gone once the Echo returns to the void.
