The current U.S. manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) for Nintendo Switch 2 is $499.99, effective September 1, 2026—not $449.99. The $449.99 figure was the console’s 2025 launch MSRP. The game apparently intended by “Mario Party World” is Mario Kart World, which Nintendo lists at $79.99.

Why the Switch 2 price is not $450
Nintendo announced a U.S. launch MSRP of $449.99 in 2025, with the console launching June 5 that year. That historical price was replaced by the $499.99 MSRP on September 1, 2026. Nintendo attributed the change to “various changes in market conditions,” which it expected to extend over the medium to long term. Nintendo’s price notice; Nintendo’s launch announcement

Is the $549.99 bundle a better deal?
At the announced MSRPs, buying the $499.99 system and $79.99 game separately totals $579.98 before tax. The $549.99 bundle is $30 below that two-item total and also includes three months of Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership. Nintendo describes its savings as $37.98 because its comparison includes the suggested retail value of the membership as well. That is an MSRP comparison, not a guarantee that the bundle beats every retailer’s current price.
The bundle includes a digital copy of Mario Kart World. If you prefer a physical game, compare the bundle with the current price of the console and physical edition at the retailer you plan to use. Check the membership period and retailer availability as well; both affect the practical value of the offer.
