No current Switch 2 preorder can be presented as a launch-day guarantee, because there is no launch day left to hit. Nintendo does not offer one worldwide delivery promise either. What it commits to depends on the country, the store, the product, and the order date. In the United States, Nintendo warned during the launch period that delivery by June 5 was not guaranteed. The only new offer on the horizon is a Japan-only bundle due November 12, 2026, and its announcement does not say who sells it or promise release-day arrival.
The original launch-day window is closed
Preorders for the Switch 2 that promised delivery on or around its June 5, 2025 release date are no longer open. If a retailer page now advertises “launch-day delivery” for the Nintendo Switch 2 console, treat that wording as a description of an old offer or a generic shipping estimate. Confirm the date shown on the live order page for your own address before paying. Stock for any current listing is not something this article can verify, so check the seller’s own stock status at the time you buy.

Dispatch, estimate, and guarantee are three different things
Most confusion about launch-day delivery comes from treating three different claims as one. Each means something different, and only one of them is a commitment:
- Dispatch date: the day the seller hands the parcel to a carrier. Nintendo’s Japan terms, for example, plan shipment by the day before release so that an order can arrive on release day. A dispatch date says nothing about when the buyer receives the box.
- Estimated arrival: a projected delivery window that the seller expects to meet. Wording such as “expected,” “planned,” or “estimated” describes intent, not a promise.
- Guaranteed arrival: a stated delivery date that the seller commits to for your order, usually with the conditions and remedies written into the order terms. Few preorder pages use this kind of language, and when they do, the exceptions are usually printed nearby.
Nintendo’s US support guidance for physical pre-purchases says the item is charged immediately and ships one to three business days after the release date. That describes shipping, not arrival on release day, and it does not promise launch-day delivery.

Regional delivery terms at a glance
Nintendo’s terms are not uniform, so compare the row that matches your store and address rather than a general claim about Nintendo.
| Market and channel | What Nintendo says | Arrival promise | Conditions and exclusions |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States, My Nintendo Store | Physical pre-purchases are charged immediately and ship 1–3 business days after the release date (Nintendo Support). | No launch-day arrival promise on that page. During the Switch 2 launch, Nintendo warned delivery by June 5, 2025 was not guaranteed. | Launch-period warning only; current order terms not stated in the same wording. |
| United Kingdom and the European countries Nintendo lists: Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Luxembourg, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Ireland | Physical preorder products are dispatched for delivery on release dates. | Release-day preorder delivery is listed for these countries on Nintendo’s store. | Shipping time after dispatch varies by service. Confirm the product and destination terms on the product page. |
| Japan, Nintendo Store | Orders placed within the period that permits arrival by release day are planned to ship by the preceding day. | A conditional plan, not an unconditional guarantee. The product page states the arrival date. | Remote islands and some other areas are excluded. The order must fall inside the eligible window. |
| Australia and New Zealand, My Nintendo Store (2025 launch offer) | Release-day delivery was advertised for eligible purchases made by May 20, 2025. | Expected on release day, with a footnote that delays could occur. | Historical offer only. Closed. |
What the 2025 retailer promises did and did not cover
The Associated Press reported in June 2025 that Walmart said its Switch 2 preorders were to be delivered by launch day. That was a statement about Walmart’s launch preorder offer. It was not a standing guarantee and does not carry over to any other retailer or to a later order.

Nintendo Australia’s launch announcement used the most precise wording of the 2025 offers. It said: “Pre-purchases of Nintendo Switch 2 are expected to be delivered to your provided address on the release day; however, delays may occur in some instances.” The word “expected” and the delay caveat are the part to remember. The offer also closed on May 20, 2025.

Quick Recap
How to check a preorder before you pay
- Find the arrival date on the product or checkout page. If the page shows only a dispatch or shipping date, it does not commit to arrival on release day.
- Enter your full delivery address before the final payment step, and confirm the date still appears. Japan’s terms exclude remote islands and some areas.
- Note the order cutoff. In Japan, the arrival-by-release-day plan applies only to orders placed within the eligible window.
- Read the qualifying words. “Expected,” “planned,” “estimated,” and “delays may occur” each mean the seller is not promising the date.
- Look for the remedy if the date slips, such as cancellation, refund, or compensation terms. If the order terms state none, the seller has not promised one.
- Save the order confirmation and a dated screenshot of the product page showing the arrival wording. These are your evidence if the delivery date is missed.
What is not established
- No success rate. No published figure shows how often Switch 2 preorders arrived on release day in any market, so this article offers no percentage.
- No current stock picture. Stock, allocation, and preorder availability for the Nintendo Switch 2 console and for the November 12, 2026 bundle change quickly and are not confirmed here. Check the live listing.
- No carry-over of 2025 promises. Walmart’s and Nintendo’s 2025 statements belong to offers that have closed and do not indicate what a current retailer will commit to.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
