PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS has the strongest currently verifiable claim among the battle royale games compared here: its developer lists six maps at 8×8 km. That makes each a 64 km² nominal bounding square by arithmetic, not necessarily 64 km² of land or match-playable terrain. PUBG previously described Rondo as having the most extensive playable area of any PUBG map at its launch, but its current size table does not name a single playable-area winner.
What does “biggest map” mean?
Map size can refer to a map’s stated length and width, the area inside those outer dimensions, its traversable land, or the portion available to players during a match. These are different measures. A cross-game ranking is only reliable when the games report the same kind of area and define their boundaries consistently.

PUBG’s August 2026 developer map-size table places Erangel, Miramar, Taego, Deston, Rondo, and Vikendi in its 8×8 km large-map category. Rondo has a separate distinction: when it launched, PUBG described it as having the most extensive playable area of any map in the game so far. Why broad “biggest battle royale map” rankings can be misleading
A secondary 2023 article claimed that Warzone 2 had the genre’s largest map, but the available official measurements do not provide a common basis to verify that ranking against PUBG’s 8×8 km dimensions. Map versions and modes can change, and a comparison may measure the full designed map, traversable terrain, or the area used in a match.
