Nintendo later set April 24, 2025, as the Canadian retail preorder start. The console’s June 5, 2025 launch date remained unchanged.
Why were Nintendo Switch 2 preorders delayed in Canada?
Canadian retail preorders had been expected to begin April 9, 2025. On April 8, Nintendo of Canada told MobileSyrup that preorders would not start that day so Canada’s timing could align with U.S. preorders, whose date had not yet been determined. MobileSyrup reported the statement, and Nintendo Life independently reported the same rationale.
