Where to check for a Nintendo Switch 2 today
Nintendo’s retailer directory lists Amazon, Best Buy, Costco Wholesale, GameStop, Sam’s Club, Target, Walmart, and other sellers. The directory is a useful checklist, not a live inventory feed. On October 8, Walmart and Best Buy had console listings; current standard-console stock at the other named retailers was not confirmed in this check.

| Walmart | Standard Switch 2 at $499; Mario Kart World bundle at $549. | Enter your location and check delivery or pickup, seller, and checkout total. These page prices do not guarantee local inventory. |
| Best Buy | Standard system at $499.99 with an add-to-cart control; a Mario Kart World bundle listing was also shown. | Confirm availability, fulfillment, and final cart price for your location. |
| Amazon | Named in Nintendo’s retailer directory; current standard-console stock was not verified. | Check for a live listing and confirm who sells and fulfills it. |
| Target, GameStop, Costco Wholesale, and Sam’s Club | Named in Nintendo’s retailer directory; current standard-console stock was not confirmed. | Search each retailer directly and check local fulfillment. |
Walmart’s $499 listing and Best Buy’s $499.99 listing are retailer-specific observations, not a single nationwide price. Nintendo announced a U.S. system price revision to $499.99 effective September 1, 2026, in its May 8, 2026 investor document. The difference between that price and Walmart’s displayed figure is why it is worth checking the actual offer rather than assuming every listing matches.
How to check local availability without mistaking a listing for stock
- Open a retailer’s Switch 2 product listing, then enter your ZIP code or choose a store.
- Compare delivery and pickup options. A listing or add-to-cart control does not establish that a console is available at every location or will remain available.
- Check the seller and fulfillment details, especially on marketplace listings.
- Review the cart for the exact model or bundle, total price, and delivery date before placing an order.
Bundles and preorders to compare
Mario Kart World bundle
Walmart displayed a $549 Mario Kart World bundle, and Best Buy also showed a bundle listing. Compare its checkout price and included game with the standalone system, and buy the bundle only if its contents suit you. The observed listings do not establish a universal bundle price or discount.

Nintendo Switch 2 + Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Bundle
Nintendo lists this bundle for October 22, 2026, at $529.99, while supplies last. It includes a full game download and a three-month Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership. Nintendo advertises $27.98 in savings versus buying the components separately, but says actual savings may vary. The membership auto-renews after the introductory term unless canceled. See Nintendo’s bundle page for the offer details.
Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition
This is a separate, dated preorder and release story, not evidence of standard-console stock today. Tom’s Guide reported on September 9, 2026, that Walmart had opened preorders at $519, Amazon had a listing but was not accepting preorders, and Best Buy and Target had sold their first allocations. The report gave October 29, 2026, as the release date. Those September observations do not establish preorder or release-day availability on October 8; check current retailer listings and distinguish a preorder from a console available to ship now. Read the September 9 report.

What the restock evidence does—and doesn’t—tell you
The October 8 listings indicate that Walmart and Best Buy had purchase listings for the standard system, but they cannot show nationwide inventory or how long an offer will last. Nintendo’s launch-period figure—more than 6 million Switch 2 units sold through globally in the first seven weeks after launch—describes early sales, not current retailer stock. Nintendo’s 2025 investor material reports that launch-period figure; it should not be used to infer present availability.
