Nintendo held its Indie World Showcase and Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase back-to-back on August 27, 2024. The roughly 40-minute broadcast focused on upcoming Nintendo Switch games from partner publishers and developers; Nintendo said the presentations would not discuss the Switch successor.
What was scheduled for August 27, 2024?
Nintendo announced an Indie World Showcase followed by a Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase. Its official YouTube listing invited viewers to “Join us on August 27 at 7am PT for an Indie World Showcase followed by a Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase!” The listing did not name a speaker.

What games were in focus?
Nintendo described the presentations as covering upcoming Nintendo Switch games from its publishing and development partners, with releases planned for the second half of 2024 and beyond. Would Nintendo discuss its next console?
No. Nintendo of America said neither presentation would mention the Nintendo Switch successor. The announced focus was partner games for Nintendo Switch, rather than successor hardware. Nintendo of America’s Nintendo Direct archive
