To use Onmyo Magic from the Thunderstorm Oni-bi Soul Core, set it in the Onmyo Box’s Yin position and pray at a shrine to restore its uses. A guide identifies yellow Oni-bi as the source and recommends farming fixed endgame spawns with shrine resets, but it does not name a mission or give coordinates. So there is no verified exact Onibi location to provide here.
How to use the Thunderstorm Oni-bi Soul Core for Onmyo Magic
The Nioh 3 Official Web Manual explains: “By setting a Soul Core in an Onmyo Box via the Shrine menu, you’ll be able to use the corresponding Onmyo Magic.” The Onmyo Box is accessed from the Shrine menu; put the Core in Yin to ready its corresponding Onmyo Magic. The manual distinguishes Yin from Yang: Yang provides different benefits and special effects, and can enable a Summoning Seal when its conditions are met.

- Obtain the Thunderstorm Oni-bi Soul Core.
- At a shrine, open the Shrine menu and set the Core in the Onmyo Box’s Yin position.
- Assign the resulting magic to an item shortcut if you want it readily accessible.
- Pray at a shrine to replenish Onmyo Magic uses.
The official Nioh 3 Web Manual describes setting Soul Cores and restoring uses at shrines. Team NINJA’s Nioh 3 system overview also explains that stored yokai Soul Cores are used to generate Onmyo talismans; it distinguishes these from yokai-summoning talismans unlocked by defeating Crucible Wraiths.
Onibi enemy location: what is actually established
Nerd’s Chalk identifies the relevant item as the Thunderstorm Oni-bi Soul Core and says it drops from yellow Oni-bi. Its advice is to look for fixed spawns in endgame content, but the guide does not identify a specific mission or provide map coordinates. That means a precise mission name or waypoint cannot be confirmed from the available location information.
#1 Best Overall
The yellow Oni-bi and its drop are claims from the secondary guide, not an official drop table. The guide also says the Core is most reliably farmed in endgame or post-campaign content and that a drop is not guaranteed after each kill.
General endgame farming loop
The guide’s recommendation is a repeatable shrine-reset loop rather than a named-location route:

- Find a fixed yellow Oni-bi spawn in an endgame area.
- Clear nearby enemies if they interfere with reaching or fighting the Oni-bi.
- Defeat the Oni-bi and check whether it dropped the Thunderstorm Oni-bi Soul Core.
- Pray at a shrine to reset the spawn, then repeat the kill-and-check cycle.
This is a general farming suggestion from Nerd’s Chalk, not a guaranteed drop method. Because the guide supplies no mission or coordinates, players will need to identify a suitable fixed spawn in their own endgame progression rather than follow an exact route from that source.

The guide spells the item “Lightning Talisman” and reports that it temporarily enchants a weapon with lightning, builds Shock, and slows affected enemies. These are the guide’s effect descriptions; the official manual pages cited here explain setup and replenishment mechanics but do not specify this talisman’s individual combat effect. The title’s “Lighting” appears to refer to this Lightning Talisman.
