The safest fix is to identify the Wondershare application that requested the file, back up your projects, and repair or reinstall that application using Wondershare’s official installer. If the original program is an older Filmora release, use the matching official legacy installer where available.

What nlesceneseqment.dll is
The filename is also reported as NLESceneSeqment.dll, with the description NLEScene 动态链接库. “Seqment” appears to be the product’s original spelling. Do not rename it to NLESceneSegment.dll; Windows applications request the exact filename they were built to use.
Available public evidence points to Wondershare Video Editor or Filmora-era software, particularly older Windows installations. That does not prove that every Filmora version used this file, and Wondershare does not publicly document a standalone download for it.
This is a private application library, not a Microsoft system DLL. It should normally be beside the executable or inside a subfolder of the Wondershare application that owns it. The exact location depends on the product and release.
Errors this file can produce
The wording varies by Windows version and by the program loading the library:
- “The program can’t start because nlesceneseqment.dll is missing from your computer.”
- “There was a problem starting nlesceneseqment.dll. The specified module could not be found.”
- “Error loading nlesceneseqment.dll. The specified module could not be found.”
- “The code execution cannot proceed because nlesceneseqment.dll was not found.”
- “nlesceneseqment.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.”
“Specified module could not be found” does not always mean the named file is absent. The file may exist while one of its dependencies is missing, the file may be incompatible with the application’s architecture, or the DLL may be damaged.
Causes to check first
The usual causes are:
- An incomplete or damaged Wondershare installation.
- An update, uninstall, cleanup utility, or disk problem removed the file.
- Antivirus software quarantined the DLL.
- An old application was paired with files from another release.
- A 32-bit application was given an incompatible replacement.
- A dependency such as a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime is missing.
- Windows components are damaged.
- The file or application was tampered with.
The first four are more likely than a damaged Windows system file because nlesceneseqment.dll is associated with a third-party application.
Fix 1: Identify and repair the owning Wondershare application
1. Check which program displays the error
Read the title bar and the complete message. It may identify Filmora, Wondershare Video Editor, or another older Wondershare product.
If the message appears immediately after launching a shortcut, right-click that shortcut and select Properties. On the Shortcut tab, inspect Target. The executable name and installation folder often identify the parent application.
You can also check installed programs:
- Press Windows key + I.
- Select Apps.
- Open Installed apps on Windows 11, or Apps & features on Windows 10.
- Search for Filmora, Wondershare, or Video Editor.
- Note the exact product name and version if Windows shows one.
Do not assume the filename alone identifies the application. If no installed program appears to own it, do not download the DLL. Find the executable that requests it first.
2. Back up projects and media
Before uninstalling or reinstalling:
- Open Filmora or the relevant Wondershare folder if it is still accessible.
- Copy project files to another drive or a separate folder.
- Back up source videos, audio, images, custom titles, and exported work.
- Avoid storing the only copy inside the application’s installation directory.
Wondershare warns that files stored inside the application directory may be removed during reinstallation. A project file may also depend on media stored elsewhere, so back up both the project and its source files.
3. Repair or reinstall from Wondershare
If the installer offers Repair, use it first:
- Open Settings.
- Select Apps, then Installed apps.
- Find the Wondershare product.
- Select the three-dot menu and choose Uninstall or Modify, depending on what is available.
- Choose Repair if the installer provides that option.
- Restart Windows and test the application.
If repair is unavailable or fails, reinstall the same product:

- Download the installer from Wondershare’s official Filmora download or product-download page.
- For an older project, choose the matching legacy version when Wondershare provides one.
- Run the installer as administrator.
- Restart Windows before launching the program.
Installing the newest Filmora release may not repair an old application that expects an older private DLL. Do not mix the DLL from one release with the executable from another.
A successful repair should allow the application to start without the loader message. If a different DLL is then named, repeat the same ownership check rather than copying individual files from unrelated sources.
Fix 2: Check Windows Security quarantine
Antivirus software may have removed or quarantined a file after an update or a scan.
- Open Windows Security from the Start menu.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Choose Protection history.
- Look for an event involving
nlesceneseqment.dll. - Expand the event and record the detection name, file path, and action taken.
Restore the file only if all of these are true:
- The file was inside the expected Wondershare installation directory.
- The application was installed from Wondershare.
- The detection does not indicate a confirmed threat.
- You are prepared to reinstall if the file is detected again.
Microsoft notes that restoring a quarantined item puts it back in its original location and may cause Windows Security to detect it again. Do not disable antivirus globally. If a trusted installation is repeatedly quarantined, record the detection name and submit the file to Microsoft, the security vendor, or Wondershare for review.

Fix 3: Install Visual C++ only when the error identifies it
A missing dependency can make Windows report that nlesceneseqment.dll itself cannot be found. Reinstall the Wondershare application first.
Look for an error that specifically names a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime file, such as an MSVC or runtime DLL. Only then install the required Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable from Microsoft’s supported-download page.
A 32-bit application generally needs the x86 runtime even when Windows is 64-bit. A 64-bit application needs the x64 runtime. Installing Visual C++ will not create nlesceneseqment.dll; it only supplies a dependency if that is the actual problem.

Restart Windows after installation and test Filmora again. If the same named file is still missing, return to the Wondershare repair or reinstall step.
Fix 4: Check 32-bit and 64-bit compatibility
A 64-bit Windows installation can run a 32-bit Filmora or Wondershare application. That does not make a 32-bit DLL suitable for a 64-bit application.
Use the application’s original installer and matching release rather than selecting a DLL by filename. Available public catalogue information describes one 32-bit build of this file, but that information is third-party metadata, not an official Wondershare specification. The exact Filmora release that shipped it has not been verified publicly.
If you recently replaced the application, copied files from another computer, or restored an old program folder, remove that mixed installation and reinstall the complete product. A complete package keeps the executable, private DLLs, and dependencies compatible.

These commands are secondary repairs. They are appropriate if Windows has broader problems, other protected system files are failing, or several applications are malfunctioning. They are unlikely to restore a proprietary Wondershare DLL.
- Open Start.
- Type
Command Prompt. - Right-click Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Run this command:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
- Wait for it to finish.
- Run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
DISM repairs the Windows component store. SFC scans protected Windows system files. If SFC reports that it repaired files, test Filmora after restarting. If both commands complete without finding a problem but the Filmora error remains, repair the Wondershare installation instead.

Fix 6: Update drivers only when the symptoms point to them
A graphics driver normally does not own nlesceneseqment.dll, so driver replacement is not the first fix. Consider it if Filmora also crashes during preview or rendering, Device Manager reports a problem, or the issue began immediately after a graphics-driver change.
To check:
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click the graphics device.
- Select Properties and inspect the General and Driver tabs.
- Use Update driver only with a trusted manufacturer or Windows source.
- Restart Windows and test the application.
Do not remove a working driver merely because the DLL message appears. Fix 7: Use System Restore after a recent change

- Select a restore point from before the error began.
- Review the affected programs.
- Confirm the restore and restart Windows.
System Restore normally reverts system settings and installed programs without removing personal documents. It is not a replacement for backing up Filmora projects, and it cannot guarantee restoration of a proprietary application file.
Why regsvr32 is usually wrong
Do not run:
regsvr32 nlesceneseqment.dll
regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that provide registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer, commonly used by certain COM or ActiveX components. There is no verified evidence that nlesceneseqment.dll requires registration.
